As the region’s leading maritime gateway, we were thrilled to attend the 5th edition of the Saudi Maritime & Logistics Congress, the largest of its kind in KSA. We networked with maritime professionals from Saudi Arabia’s shipping and marine logistics industry among 10,000 attendees from over 70 countries, under the theme “A New Dawn for Maritime & Logistics.” Raveen Guliani, Chief Operating Officer - Logistics, DP World GCC, participated in a panel discussion on “Interconnected Logistics and the Supply Chain of the Future,” highlighting the KSA logistics infrastructure development in line with the Saudi Vision 2030, including regional transshipment evolution and the land-bridge initiative. Mohamed AbuHamra, Chief Operating Officer - Digital Technology, DP World GCC, also participated in a panel discussion on “The Digitalisation of Maritime and logistics: The adoption of AI and machine learning.” He underscored the opportunities and challenges of adopting AI and machine learning in the maritime industry, as well as lessons learned from early adopters of pioneering AI technology in other industries.
