What’s the story behind gpm? I was asked this question recently in an interview with Piotr Piękoś from Future Processing. It’s a great question and it’s interesting to look back on the history of the company and how I started working in the London Insurance Market. gpm is actually 35 years old and still innovating after 35 years! I joined originally 20 years ago, that was my initial introduction into the London Market. I had been working in travel insurance previously. In a company that had a claims service, but without very good information and data. So, I put together an access database to capture the key information and that’s what really sparked my interest in the importance of data from claims! To enable underwriting and the importance of having a good process of capturing that data and being able to report on it. Then shortly afterwards I joined gpm and I was learning about the London Market in the day and doing a computer science degree in the evening. I did my final thesis on change in the London Insurance Market and that was 16 years ago… I think we have come full circle! #gpmStory #HowItAllBegan #LondonMarket #DataProcesses

Team Agile is excited to welcome Lema as our new Senior Underwriter in Accident & Health (A&H)! 🎉 Lema's journey into the insurance industry began like many others: she applied for advertised jobs in the financial sector and found her calling in insurance. Over the years, she has developed a deep passion for the field, particularly enjoying the challenge of thinking about risk and applying her skills to analyse and assess various situations. Lema also values the opportunity to learn about different industry sectors, which she finds especially rewarding. However, what she loves most about insurance is the people interaction and camaraderie. Lema believes there is always room for improvement in the industry, particularly in the area of mentorship. She notes that while mentorship is improving, there is still much more that can be done to develop talent at all levels. When it comes to the future of insurance, Lema prefers not to make predictions. She humorously suggests that if she had a crystal ball, she’d be lying on a beach drinking pina coladas. However, she hopes that the industry will always remain a people business. Outside of work, Lema enjoys traveling, watching the latest TV shows, and trying new restaurants.
