As a Black woman in leadership, I carry the weight of my ancestors’ dreams and the resilience of those who came before me. 🌍💪 The journey to the top isn’t easy, but it’s one filled with strength, purpose, and power. According to recent studies, only about 3% of Black women hold senior leadership roles in corporate America, and Black women make up just 5% of nonprofit leadership positions. Yet, we continue to break barriers, defy expectations, and lead with authenticity, compassion, and unapologetic excellence. Black women leaders are shifting the narrative, breaking glass ceilings, and leaving an undeniable impact on the world. From nonprofit organizations to corporate boardrooms, our leadership drives change that’s felt far beyond our communities. As Audre Lorde once said, "I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own." My leadership is about lifting as I climb and ensuring the success of others along the way. 🌟 Here’s to more Black women leading with power, grace, and purpose. Meet the Founders! Dr. LeAnna Majors and Chinedu Udeh are the passionate minds behind When We Gather Consulting. Together, they bring decades of experience in teaching, coaching, and organizational leadership. LeAnna and Chinedu first met as colleagues and instantly connected through a deep love of reading and discussing history, freedom and freedom dreaming, the Black diaspora, and womanism. They share a commitment to creating spaces where Black women’s identities are affirmed, their voices are amplified, and their potential is fully realized through gathering, storytelling, and reflection. Why We Founded When We Gather Consulting When We Gather Consulting was born out of the profound joy and healing we experienced when we gathered with other Black women, along with our shared experience of burnout, isolation, and erasure. We recognized the need for release, grounding in self, and the creation of healing-centered, sustainable environments. Believing in the power of collective action as crucial for addressing systemic oppression, we established When We Gather Consulting to help Black women thrive in every space they occupy.
