No matter the turf, there’s a lot of science behind mowing. In this video, our turf doctor, Dr. Ben Hamza, talks about the importance of innovation in mowing with the help of Sebastian, our smart robotic mower. 🤖 Keeping watch over the height, frequency, and length of mowing based on the grass type is crucial to maintain all the quality attributes of a good playing surface. That’s why we’re always investing in the latest innovations in turf and landscape, to help superintendents improve their decision-making process. Learn about why the science of mowing matters. 👇 #TurfManagement #AgTech

Are you attending #ICRA24, the most prestigious robotic conference? Please join us to see our papers' presentation. We are presenting two papers this year: "Distributed Multi-Robot Online Sampling with Budget Constraints" (ThAT9-CC Oral Session, CC-419, Task Planning) This paper proposes an online, distributed multi-robot sampling algorithm based on Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) (Reinforcement Learning), in which robots iteratively select sampling locations based on communication and budget constraints. "Robotic Assessment of a Crop's Need for Watering: Automating a Time-Consuming Task to Support Sustainable Agriculture" (ThAT24-NT Oral Session, NT-G402, Robotics and Automation in Agriculture and Forestry II) This paper develops a robotic system capable of collecting and analyzing plant specimens. In this paper, a mobile robot autonomously selects multiple measurement locations for sample collection based on Q-Learning (Reinforcement Learning) and then the in-house designed end-effector mounted on the robot's arm will be used to retrieve the leaves . Furthermore, RGBD camera and lidar point clouds are used to select potential leaf. https://lnkd.in/ghkGX-Pb

Since I started at Altium® friends and family have been asking me about why I'm so excited about software for electronics design and product lifecycle management. After years of personal focus on sustainable agriculture and professional experience with big data and business process collaboration, it seems to be a bit of a swerve. Actually, what we're doing at #Altium365 is just the type of convergence that I've been waiting/working for. For example, Muddy Machines makes products that take software and electric robots into the fields to harvest crops amidst labor shortages. If you ask me whether I'm into sustainable agriculture, software or manufacturing, I say "yes please." You've heard the famous prediction that "software will eat the world". It will also feed it. Check out this video on how Altium 365 speeds collaboration to solve age-old farming challenges. It comes with a side of asparagus.

Autonomy like you've never seen! We just revealed four new autonomous machines. “Our agriculture, construction, and commercial landscaping customers all have work that must get done at certain times of the day and year, yet there is not enough available and skilled labor to do the work,” said Jahmy Hindman, chief technology officer. “Autonomy can help address this challenge. That’s why we’re extending our technology stack to enable more machines to operate safely and autonomously in unique and complex environments. This will not only benefit our customers, but all of us who rely on them to provide the food, fuel, fiber, infrastructure, and landscaping care that we depend on every day.” Press Release: http://spr.ly/6040vIQAr
