🎉 Happy World Creativity and Innovation Day! 👩 🔬 Today, April 21st, LIFE NextFumigreen celebrates the importance of giving free rein to our imagination to provide solutions to the challenges faced by the primary sector such as sustainable agriculture, the circular economy and digitalization.  🍃 LIFE NextFUMIGREEN is a European project that seeks to develop natural smokers, from active ingredients extracted from plant extracts, for the control of populations of whiteflies and other pests in horticultural crops developed intensively under greenhouses. The goal is to test the efficacy of a new fumigant biopesticide that is less toxic than conventional ones. With a total budget of €2,758,921.01, LIFE NextFUMIGREEN will contribute to improving food security, biodiversity and the professionalization of farmers in the use of biopesticides.   🙌 This project, led by FUMI-HOGAR in collaboration with B&B Asesores, Comercial Química Massó , BrioAgro España and the Fundación FINNOVA (EU), is an inspiring example of how creativity and innovation can make a difference in sustainable agriculture and environmental protection. Hula Earth, a Munich-based startup focused on biodiversity monitoring, has secured €1.6 million to support industries such as food production, cosmetics, and infrastructure on their journey toward becoming nature-positive 🇩🇪 🍃 Florian Geiser, Co-founder and CEO of Hula Earth, explained: “More than half of the global GDP is dependent on nature. Today, LIFE NextFumigreen has been present at the youth meeting in Brussels, along with our partner, Fundación FINNOVA (EU). 🎯 Yolanda Durán Piñero, a journalist from Finnova, had the opportunity to share the main objectives of LIFE NextFumigreen. It is an exceptional project that will develop natural fumigants from active materials extracted from plant extracts. These fumigants will control populations of whiteflies and pests such as thrips or aphids in intensively cultivated horticultural crops under greenhouses. 🙌 This LIFE project, led by FUMI-HOGAR, in collaboration with B&B ASESORES, Centro Tecnológico Tecnova, Comercial Química Massó , BrioAgro España, and Fundación FINNOVA (EU), is co-financed at 60% by the European Union’s LIFE Programme. ⏳ Our work monitoring pollinators for multinational brewer AB InBev has led us here - demonstrating the impact our smart listening AI tech can have to Unilever, The Coca-Cola Company, Colgate-Palmolive, and Danone.
