A significant one is a lack of confidence in the potential outcomes. 📊 The #FarmTreeTool is an innovative tool converting complex scientific data into accessible models customised to suit the unique characteristics of individual farms. 💻 It allows to recreate current or hypothetical #agroforestry scenarios in an online environment, projecting their long-term performance, and presenting these outputs in graphs and time series for a variety of economic, social and environmental indicators.   🌳Within ReForest, the #FarmTreeTool has been developed as a separate application that will be available via the ReForest #platform, enabling ReForest users to explore agroforestry scenarios of the project. Since the project inception phase, FarmTree B.V. has:   ✅included additional functionalities to capture seasonality effects in production ✅added +80 temperate species to their database ✅started to capture Living Lab agricultural scenarios with the support of partners and field data   💼FarmTree B.V. is a company based in Wageningen, the Netherlands, specialised in #modelling the impact of #agroforestry with their in-house developed #FarmTreeTool. Really looking forward to this project, which really strikes at the heart of the challenges ahead for agriculture and forestry in the UK and across Europe. How can we 'nudge' people towards more sustainable production, in a way that does not compromise overall production, profitability, or individuals needs and innovation?

🌿💰🌱Last week, ReForest & DigitAF projects came together for a vibrant #workshop in the Netherlands to share experience and advancements in the development of #financialtools for #agroforestry 💡Partners from ILVO (Instituut voor Landbouw, Visserij- en Voedingsonderzoek), Deutscher Fachverband für Agroforstwirtschaft (DeFAF) e.V., Cranfield University, Louis Bolk Institute, FarmTree B.V., Universoty of Pisa, and the Czech Research Institute for Landscape showcased their financial tools: 🌿Yield-SAFE 🌿#INTACT 🌿#AgroforstRechner 🌿#FarmTreeTool 🌿Czech institute's tool The participants explored how these models complement one another, exchanged feedback, and brainstormed new ideas for #collaboration by diving deeper on how to: 💡 solve real-world challenges. 💡 secure financing for agroforestry and food forests. 💡 drive research and innovation in sustainable farming. 🌳🐄An inspiring farm visit to Boerderij tussen de Hagen, a Dutch organic dairy farm transitioning to fruit and nut #agroforestry on pastureland, enriched and inspired discussions .
