📷 Snapshot of Hatch in a Day As we engage the start-up ecosystem here in Singapore, this week we had a change of pace by having Automa8e in our innovation centre to deliver an insightful masterclass for deep tech start-ups in Singapore. While Hatch’s work centres around creating mission impact for Singapore’s public safety and security, today, our team had the opportunity to understand other business challenges that start-ups commonly deal with outside of innovation work. At the session, over 30 participants explored key topics such as navigating mandatory accounting, tax reporting, and IRAS filings. Key takeaways:  💡 Leverage Grants: High costs? Despite a cooling market, there's plenty to celebrate for #Singapore when it comes to startup activity. The gleaming Southeast Asian city-state boasts a strategic location, supportive government policies, robust legal frameworks, and a diverse workforce, all of which have attracted a variety of businesses from AI and healthcare to manufacturing and software. It now leads the FT’s ranking of high-growth companies in the Asia-Pacific with 93 firms listed, surpassing cities like Seoul and Tokyo. At 23rd place is LionsBot International, a cleaning robot manufacturer. Despite its primary markets being in the US and #Europe, co-founder Dylan Ng points to Singapore's stable geopolitical outlook and large talent pool as key benefits of their strategic headquarters. The city's robust ecosystem and ease of doing business makes it an ideal base for start-ups aiming to expand internationally. As a #fundraising hub in the Southeast Asian region, it attracts founders and investors alike. Primary care #telehealth startup Doctor Anywhere sees most of its underlying business coming from the local and regional market.
