The book “AI in Media, Communication and Marketing” (German title: „KI in Medien Kommunikation und Marketing“) will be published soon by Springer Gabler The editors of the book, Christina Vaih-Baur Veit Mathauer Prof. Dr. Eva-Irina von Gamm and Dominik Pietzcker had invited me to contribute a chapter. I feel very honored. Thank you. I decided to contribute to an unusual and so far little-noticed topic: how #disinformation agents exploit the symbiotic relationship between #NGOs and #editorial offices / #journalists by using #AI-generated disinformation about alleged violations of #ESG guidelines by companies to flush it into the media via the NGOs. It may sound complicated at first, but it's not. All NGOs are interest-driven and most of them, unlike media journalists, do not have the skills for hardcore #factchecking. But they have the sympathy of the media outlets, which are happy to open the door for the NGOs when they come knocking with a supposed corporate scandal. If this supposed corporate scandal takes place in a distant country, for example, many editorial offices no longer have the resources to send a journalist to the scene to verify it. And that is precisely what can be exploited by professional disinformation agents. AI enables well-crafted misinformation. Photos of toxic barrels in the #rainforest are generated, dead animals, sick people. Alleged witnesses provide audiovisual statements about the #scandal - the range of possibilities for forgery knows no bounds. Companies are more vulnerable than ever before through their ESG policies while traditional media as gatekeepers against disinformation are weakened. This is an issue that global companies should urgently address. This is what I write about in the chapter of this book and I am very curious to see what the other distinguished authors have written. #disinformation #disinformationattacks #reputation #scandal #AI #media #journalists #companies #NGO #editorial #factchecking

Digitalization, artificial intelligence (AI), and dataism are increasingly reshaping the global landscape, driving profound changes in how society functions. An upcoming book on this subject, authored by the Founding Director of CPG - the organization where I contribute as a volunteer - provides valuable insights and is highly recommended for those seeking to understand these transformative developments.

As we approach the end of the year, the Annual Performance Review (APR) looms on the horizon. Right after the holidays, just as we’re easing into the new year, it’s time to self-assess and be assessed. But it doesn’t have to be daunting! Think of it as a personal highlight reel—a time for self-promotion and showcasing your achievements. This is the perfect moment to review and reflect on the impact you’ve made throughout the year. If you haven’t kept a “brag document” before, make it a priority in 2025! This simple habit can remind you of all your contributions, big and small. The APR is your chance to let your accomplishments shine. It’s not just about listing tasks; it’s about showing how you made a difference. What did you achieve, support, or influence? How did you move the needle forward? For those who’ve worked with multiple managers, it can be tricky to capture everything. Take a moment to map out each quarter: where did you add value? When did you make a difference for someone or improve processes? Highlight these instances, but also explain *why* they mattered. Show the ripple effect: if you hadn’t done that, how might the business or team have been impacted? Describe not just what you did, but *how* you did it—whether through speed, efficiency, cost savings, or knowledge-sharing. This is your opportunity to show how you bring unique value to the team. So, yes—blow your own horn! Don’t assume your work speaks for itself. Remind others of what you bring to the table. Celebrate your wins. https://lnkd.in/gpbXN-XX
