😎 Yes, it's possible! You can get rid of AI Overviews in Google Search. Because it pushes your list of links further down the page ? Because Google's AI hallucinating ? Although Google doesn't officially let you disable the feature, there are a few workarounds. ❓ In addition to many browser plugins, you can do the following in Chrome on Windows or Mac: Head to Settings > Search engine > Manage search engines and site search. From there, select "Add" next to the "Site search" section. Add a nickname for your AI-less version of Google in the "Name" section, add a shortcut, and paste in this URL: {google:baseURL}search?q=%s&udm=14. When you're done, hit "Save" or "Add." Then select the three dots next to the entry and choose "Make default." ✅ The next time you conduct a search, you should no longer see AI Overviews. 🌟 Check Out the Full Story on The Verge : https://lnkd.in/gBTp8z4z #GoogleSearchTips #AIOverviewRemoval #AI #IA #SearchEngine #Tips #Google #Hacks #Tricks #GoogleChrome #Mac #Windows #Technology #Tech

Recently had to set up my private mac, so this time I documented the process. Some key takes: - 🍺 Brew is the fastest way to get most of the necessary apps installed - 👨💻 Raycast now fully replaced Alfred as "command bar", which in turn replaced Spotlight (Thanks for Hai Bui for the recommendation) - 🧠 I use three separate AI interfaces on the mac: LibreChat (docker container), the ChatGPT plugin within Raycast and Github Copilot Bonus: - If you activate keyboard shortcuts on gmail, its the 80/20 of Superhuman 😎 https://lnkd.in/d87Qipmn

I've noticed a dramatic increase in the use of em dashes (—) on LinkedIn over the past 2–3 weeks. We all know what the game is: go on ChatGPT and ask for something along the lines of: "Generate a LinkedIn post about 𝘢 that mentions 𝘹, 𝘺, and 𝘻, and make it sound personal." That will inevitably throw up a load of waffle that almost certainly contains one or more em dashes. A lot of these posts are not necessarily simple copy-and-paste exercises. There's often enough human input to suggest some tinkering has taken place. In fact, I've put a few through a detector, and many of them are estimated to have about 40–60% AI-generated content. Whilst there are other telltale signs, such as stiff and stilted language, the em dash is arguably the most significant indicator. That's because 𝘯𝘰 𝘰𝘯𝘦 uses them — unless you're like me—but mine 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 have a space on either side. 𝘖𝘰𝘱𝘴. One reason is people were never taught how to use them. The other is how inaccessible they are. Although on mobile, holding down '-' allows you to access the dash set easily, the process can be a little convoluted on desktop. Windows users without a full-sized keyboard have to open Character Map and find the symbol to copy. Or go further by installing a third-party add-in just to assign a shortcut. 🤦🏻♂️ Thankfully, with a numeric keypad, it's Alt + 0151. However, Mac users are the luckiest, as Shift + Option + - works on all keyboards. Nevertheless, hyphens were once the convenient go-to alternative to em dashes — but that's changed now.

In Google Chrome type @gemini to more easily chat with Google Gemini without navigating to a separate site. We’re also continuing the rollout and Gemini is also now available directly in Google Maps, YouTube, Hotels, and across Workspace apps. I’m curious have you used Gemini in your workflow or as part of your search asks? What are some of your favorite non obvious prompts or way you use it? #AI #GenAI #Gemini #LLM

One of the simplest but most important pieces of advice I give to clients when they're ready to start taking right-sized steps to going AI-native is to "stop typing and start talking." You can much more efficiently get your thoughts into the computer, iteratively interact with state-of-the-art models, solve problems faster, build products, and address unprecedented levels of customer need. Unfortunately, Windows users have largely been out of luck as the on-device dictation capabilities are, for whatever reason, just not that great. (superwhisper is only available on Mac and iOS). However, that's changing soon with Wispr Flow. I've heard lots of good things, and it looks like their Windows application will be rolling out soon. If you're serious about integrating AI into your workflow, using it to transform your organization, and you're operating within the Microsoft ecosystem, then I'd highly recommend checking out this preview release...
