✨ Just got back from the unforgettable #AeroMetSci24— WMO’s Aeronautical Meteorology Scientific Conference in Geneva! It was an incredible experience, filled with cutting-edge insights and impactful discussions on the future of meteorology in aviation. With over 150 attendees and more than 40 presentations, the week was packed with innovative ideas and advances in climate science. 🚀 Highlight Moments: AI METHODS blew everyone away with their work on AI-driven Convection Prediction—an inspiring look at how AI can enhance forecast accuracy and safety in aviation. Ms. Claire Bartholomew showcased her outstanding research on machine learning for convective nowcasting—an impressive breakthrough for real-time weather prediction. Prof. Jung-Hoon Kim presented the Local Aviation Model Output Statistics Program (LAMP), a powerful tool advancing local aviation meteorology. 🤝 Returning to Cameroon after AeroMetSci24, I’m inspired to raise the bar higher. I’m eager to start implementing everything I learned, using these new AI techniques to enhance the accuracy of forecasts in local Cameroonian airports. The energy in Geneva was incredible, with colleagues old and new collaborating on solutions to build a climate-resilient, safe aviation sector. Huge thanks to Piers Buchanan for being the masterful MC, and to WMO for organizing such a powerful event. Onward to collaboration and innovation—because together, we can turn science into impact! ✈ find out more here - https://lnkd.in/e2Y2tisu
