Spy shots have revealed the Luxeed S9, a new crossover SUV co-developed by Chery and Huawei, undergoing road tests in China. This sporty model, similar to the upcoming Nio ET9, features a sleek design with minimal overhangs, three-lens headlights, and a lidar unit on the roof for advanced driver-assistance. The rear design includes a through-light feature and a high-ending tailgate with a minimal rear window. Interior highlights include a double-layer design, floating control screen, unique steering wheel, and face recognition technology. Expected to feature Huawei's motor system and an 800V platform, the S9 aims to exceed the power outputs of the S7, which has up to 489 HP in its all-wheel-drive version. Redesigning FPV Quadrocopter Frames Quadcopters, known for their agility, stability, and versatility, have become a cornerstone in modern aerial technology. From high-speed First-Person View (FPV) racing to smooth cinematic flights and even industrial applications, quadcopters are a fascinating blend of engineering and innovation. Their unique four-rotor design provides exceptional control, making them ideal for acrobatics and precise maneuvers in challenging environments. I am currently redesigning my FPV quadcopter frame, which has already reached dimensions of 420 mm x 150 mm. This redesign is not just about altering dimensions—it's about rethinking the structure to improve durability, reduce weight, and enhance the frame's ability to accommodate advanced FPV components. My goal is to create a frame that combines strength and lightness while offering room for modular upgrades. Using FreeCAD as my design tool, I am leveraging its powerful parametric modeling features to fine-tune every aspect of the frame. FreeCAD allows me to precisely engineer the design, ensuring it meets the demanding requirements of FPV enthusiasts like myself. This iterative redesign process enables me to experiment with various configurations and materials to achieve the best possible performance. The redesigned frame will not only be more robust but also optimized for aerodynamics, ensuring smoother flights and better energy efficiency. Additionally, I am paying close attention to vibration damping and component protection, two critical factors for improving flight stability and extending the lifespan of electronics. In the coming weeks, I will share updates on this exciting project, detailing the challenges I face, the solutions I implement, and the innovations that emerge along the way.
