As humans we have a tendency to be ruled by fear, especially in the employment context. Common fear based questions ⬇️ ➡️ "What if we have to pay unemployment?" The troublesome employee is gone and that's what really matters. Unemployment is a small price to pay. Amounts paid for unemployment is less than wages, benefits and workplace disruption. ➡️ "What if we get someone worse?" An employer should never tolerate disruptive or toxic workers. Most likely the next hire will be better. It not, it's okay to keep looking. ➡️ "What if they need training?" Provide it! No matter how much experience an individual brings to their new employer they will require some training. At a minimum, the new hire needs to learn how the organization functions and how their expertise benefits the company. Don't be held hostage by fear. Talk these concerns through with a qualified Human Resources pro. #fear #fearbased #training #hiring #management #leader #oncallhrwichita #linkedinforcreators

💡The Paradox of Plenty: Why Employers Struggle to Find Specialized Workers in an Unemployed World 💡 In a world where countless resumes pile up on job boards and unemployment remains a pressing issue, why do employers still claim they “can’t find the right talent”? This paradox is more common than you’d think, and the reasons behind it reveal gaps in our workforce systems. One key issue is the skills mismatch. According to the World Economic Forum, 50% of all employees will need reskilling by 2025 as industries evolve and new technologies emerge. Many unemployed workers are skilled, but their expertise may not align with the demands of specialized roles in fields like tech, healthcare, or advanced manufacturing. Employers are often seeking hyper-specific qualifications—such as experience with cutting-edge tools or niche certifications—that job seekers simply haven’t had the chance to acquire. Another factor is underinvestment in training. Companies are hesitant to hire workers without all the “right” skills and train them on the job. In fact, research by LinkedIn found that 89% of talent acquisition professionals agree that hiring based on potential (and providing training) would bridge the gap, yet many organizations continue to hold out for “unicorn” candidates. Lastly, geographical and economic barriers play a role. Specialized jobs are often clustered in high-cost urban centers, far from unemployed workers who may not afford relocation or face barriers such as child care or transportation. Solving this problem will require a collaborative effort: businesses investing in upskilling, governments supporting education reform, and job seekers embracing lifelong learning. Until then, the paradox of unfilled jobs and jobless workers will persist. It’s time to bridge the gap! Employers, candidates, and communities must work together for a future where everyone thrives. #JobMarketParadox #SkillsGap #FutureOfWork #Upskilling #CareerDevelopment #OpportunitiesForAll #Underemployment #Unemployment #ghostedhire

America faces a unique situation where more jobs are available than workers to fill them. This shortage of workers has been a prevailing trend since 2021. To address this challenge, two key strategies are being considered: 1. Higher Birth Rate: Encouraging a higher birth rate is seen as a long-term solution to the labor shortage. By boosting the population growth, there is potential to meet the increasing worker demand over time. 2. Automation of Tasks: Another approach to alleviating the shortage is embracing technology to automate specific tasks. By automating repetitive or less complex tasks, individuals can focus on roles requiring high levels of human interaction and advanced skill sets. These strategies aim to bridge the gap between job openings and available workers and adapt to the evolving landscape of work and employment in the United States. #GETGRUBBRR GRUBBRR®

#HR #UnemploymentBenefits #EmployeeTermination Hey everyone! 😊 I’m reaching out because I've hit a bit of a snag with my first employee termination as a one-person HR team in a small startup. We recently let go of a new hire after just three weeks due to poor performance. Trust me, it wasn't an easy decision! Now, I really want to make sure they receive unemployment benefits if they're eligible. Here's the situation: The employee filed for unemployment and listed the reason as "lack of work." I’m wondering if, since the reason for termination was performance-related, that might disqualify them from benefits? Should I also mark it as "lack of work" when I respond? 🤔 Here are some pain points I'm considering: Confusion Over Grounds for Termination: It can be tricky to navigate how different reasons for firing affect unemployment claims. Company Reputation: I worry about what this might mean for both the employee and our company's image. HR Responsibility: ... How Can We Support Unemployment Benefits After a Poor Firing?
