What’s your proudest moment so far this year? Its been almost a month since we won ‘Employer of the Year – Small Firm’ at the national Accounting Excellence Awards. This was such an exciting and proud moment for us as a team. And it already feels a bit like a distant memory! Have you ever noticed how easy it is to get swept up in the every day running of your business that you lose track of everything you’ve achieved in the past year? As we get closer to the end of the calendar year here are some questions that we’ll be asking ourselves in our next team workshop. We thought you might find them useful too. 1. What are you MOST PROUD of this year? 2. What are our BIGGEST OPPORTUNITIES for next year? 3. What are our BIGGEST CHALLENGES for next year? 4. What do we need to KEEP DOING to get closer to our vision? 5. What do we need to STOP DOING? These are key questions we also ask as part of our Business Planning service. We do this for ourselves and our clients on an annual basis. It’s helps you get really clear on what your most important goals are for next 12 months and where to focus your valuable time and energy. Don’t forget to take a moment as a team, to absorb all of your proud moments and successes – both in and out of work. Even if the year hasn’t quite worked out as you planned, there will be moments worth celebrating. How will you be celebrating this year? We’d love to hear about it in the comments below. #businessadvice #accountingsupport #awardwinningaccountants

A few weeks ago, I sat across from Chioma during a virtual meeting. She had reached out to me after hearing about our young Accountants community. Her voice trembled as she began her story, and by the time she finished, I felt a lump in my throat. It wasn’t just her words; it was the raw pain and regret behind them. “I thought hard work was enough,” she said. “I kept moving from one job to another, hoping something would click. But I was just running in circles.” Her career felt like a series of poor choices. She worked long hours in underpaying jobs, often overlooked for growth opportunities. The worst moment came when she was denied a promotion after giving her all. “I felt so lost,” she admitted. “I sat in traffic that day, tears streaming down my face. I didn’t know what I was doing wrong.” Her turning point came when she became intentional about mentorship and community. Skeptical but desperate, she joined a group for young accountants. “That decision changed everything,” she said. “For the first time, I had people who understood my struggles and guided me. I stopped guessing my way through life. I started growing.” Today, Chioma has a more fulfilling career. But she regrets not seeking help earlier. “I wish I hadn’t wasted so much time figuring things out alone. Joining that community was the smartest decision I ever made.” Her story is a reminder that no one builds a career alone. If you’ve been struggling in silence, this is your sign to stop.✋🏾 Join The Young Accountants Club, a community of young accountants committed to learning, growing, and achieving excellence. 🎉📈 Celebrating my first month at 🇺🇦 Accountancy Action 🇺🇦 📈🎉 Wow, what a whirlwind it has been! Today marks my one-month anniversary at Accountancy Action, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share my journey with all of you. In this short span of time, I've successfully placed five talented individuals into new roles and survived the first of what I'm sure will be many team nights out at Hijingo Bingo which was an absolute vibe!. It's moments like these that truly solidify the bonds within our team and make coming to work each day an absolute pleasure. But it's not just about the work; it's also about finding that balance between professional fulfilment and personal happiness. I'm truly grateful for the work-life balance that 🇺🇦 Accountancy Action 🇺🇦 has afforded me. Gone are the days of long commutes on crowded trains and tubes or endless hours stuck on a train platform wondering 'will the train ever arrive on time?'. With the office just a mere 10-minute drive away, I've reclaimed precious time to enjoy the things that truly matter in life, whether it's spending time with loved ones, pursuing hobbies, or simply taking a moment to relax and recharge. Cheers to one month down and countless more to go! #AccountancyActionAnniversary #WorkLifeBalance #TeamGoals #accountancyaction #financerecruitment

Hello Accountants, As accountants, we have to relate with people, they can be colleagues, junior ones, our bosses, clients, and other sets of people. One of the best thing you can do with people is to be deliberately KIND and NICE to people. Really it won't cost us so much to be nice to people, smile at them and encourage them. Times are really hard and people are going through a lot, your act of being kind and nice to people might be the strength they need at that point to really keep going and not give up. So this new week smile, be kind to people and genuinely ask after their well being as you go about your work and life. Greet that security guard well, smile at the receptionist, genuinely ask about the well being of your colleagues, junior ones and even bosses. Imagine how better and more beautiful our world would be if we all could be more Kind and Nice in our dealings with people. Have a great and fulfilling week ahead. #accounting #nice #kind #newweek

✨ Embracing the #PossibilityX Journey – One Dream at a Time Two years ago, I set out to visit as many BDO offices as possible—1776, to be exact. 🌍 Along the way, I challenged my team to dream big and create their own bucket lists. This journey has taught me something profound: dreams evolve. While my goal remains to visit BDO offices worldwide, I’ve added new aspirations—like savoring the moment, connecting with incredible people, and, of course, drinking great coffee ☕️. 🚀 Here’s my challenge for you: Pause, dream, and write down what’s on your bucket list. Big or small, every dream matters. When you write it down, you breathe life into it. Let’s create a ripple of inspiration together. Share one item from your bucket list in the comments—it might just encourage someone else to dream a little bigger. 🌟 Here’s to making the impossible possible in 2024. Cheers to another year of chasing dreams and embracing the journey! Happy 2025! 🎉 #DreamBig #ChasingPossibilities #BucketList #PositiveLeadership #BDO

A Letter to Young Accountants I remember when I first started off as a young accountant. The journey was far from easy, and there were times when I felt cheated and disheartened. However, each challenge I faced turned into a valuable experience that propelled me forward towards achieving my dreams. 🎯Embrace Challenges Challenges should not be seen as setbacks but as pathways to your destination. Every obstacle is an opportunity to learn, grow, and develop resilience. It’s through these experiences that we build the strength and knowledge to excel in our careers. 🎯Be Open to Learning Be open to learning and growth. The accounting field is constantly evolving, and staying curious and adaptable is key to staying ahead. Seek out mentors, embrace new technologies, and never stop honing your skills. 🎯Celebrate Progress As we wrap up the week and head into my birthday week, I reflect on my journey with gratitude. The ups and downs have shaped who I am today. I wish us all a joyous weekend ahead, filled with reflection and appreciation for how far we’ve come. To all the young accountants out there, keep pushing forward. Your hard work and dedication will pay off. Embrace every experience, learn from every challenge, and never lose sight of your dreams. Thank you Haoma Worgwu for the #20dayschallengewithhaoma 📷 #ASOROCK 2018 #YoungAccountants #CareerGrowth #Resilience #ContinuousLearning #ProfessionalDevelopment #WeekendReflection

For those who don't actually know me - my journey at Nordens Chartered Accountants is something that i'm incredibly proud of. I started out as an eager work experience student, soaking in every bit of knowledge I could. Fast forward to today, and I’m proud to say I’ve grown into the role of Client Success Manager. It's been a journey of learning, growth, and lots of hard work, but the most fulfilling part is definitely speaking to new people every day and feeling like I'm truly making a difference. At Nordens, our clients often tell us their previous accountants: 👉 Slapped them with unexpected invoices at the end of the year 👉 Answered business questions with confusing accounting jargon (my biggest pet peeve!) 👉 Gave reactive advice or simply didn’t provide proper guidance 👉 Made them feel uncomfortable asking questions due to overcomplicated explanations I get it. Dealing with accountants shouldn’t be a source of stress. That’s why I love my role so much – solving problems for our clients and explaining things in a way that actually makes sense. Seeing that moment when something clicks for a client is honestly so rewarding. So tell me, what's the most rewarding part about your role? #accountantswhocare #clientsuccess

It’s Graduation O’clock🎊🎊 Recall that I shared my intention of embarking on a #20daylinkedinchallengewithhaoma. Today is officially the last day. I am really grateful for this challenge. It was indeed a challenge. I already shared in my post yesterday the things I am grateful for; I want to share with you today some of the lessons I have learnt so far. Lessons Learnt 🎊You can achieve whatever you set your mind to do with the help of people and God. 🎊There is strength in company, especially like-minded people. If you are struggling to do a project, locate your company and lean on the strength available. 🎊You still have to put in the work - this kind of training is to guide you and help you navigate LinkedIn, but you still have to do what you need to do to get the result you want. 🎊Rome was not built in a day : brick by brick, step by step. I can not be overly anxious about the result I want to get; it still takes time. 🎊Vision written and broken down to actionable steps is powerful 🎊When You fail, rise up, learn from the fall, and get going 🎊You do not have to learn from your own mistakes. You can avoid the mistakes and learn from the mistakes of people who have gone ahead of you. I hope you have learnt something from this post. Share with me in the comment session. Do you also want to embark on this LinkedIn challenge? I've got news for you. The 20th edition is happening soon. Please jump on the link in the comment session. ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` If we're meeting for the first time, I am Gloria, an experienced auditor driven by a passion for growth and enlightenment. I share enriching content on accounting, auditing, and the professional sphere. Let's connect for future interactions. #monday #Graduationday #celebratingconsistency #20daylinkedinchallengewithhaoma #growth #appreciation #personalbrand #Accounting #auditing #thoughtleader #20daylinkedinchallengewithhaoma

I am thrilled to celebrate my 25-year anniversary as a Chartered Accountant! Reflecting on my journey to date, I am grateful for the opportunities, challenges, and friendships that have shaped my professional life. Over the years, I have learned that the essence of our profession goes beyond numbers; it’s about building trust, fostering relationships, and driving meaningful change. I have learnt so much along the way, but it all comes down to the following five key areas. Adaptability is Key. The accounting landscape is constantly evolving, and being open to change has allowed me to stay relevant and responsive to new challenges. Lifelong Learning - embracing continuous professional development through formal education and on-the-job experiences has kept me not only curious but also has enriched my knowledge and skills. Collaboration Over Competition. Building my network, sharing insights and supporting each other has allowed me to continually grow alongside my peers. Integrity Matters - I’ve learned that integrity not only builds credibility but also strengthens relationships with stakeholders and colleagues alike. Empathy and Communication go hand-in-hand. Understanding stakeholder needs and communicating effectively has been essential. Taking the time to listen and connect on a personal level enhances trust and leads to better outcomes. A heartfelt thank-you to my mentors and colleagues who have supported me along the way. Your encouragement and partnership have made this journey even more rewarding. #CharteredAccountants #CareerMilestone #caanz #Gratitude #ProfessionalGrowth #LifelongLearning
