https://lnkd.in/e9yRZqAX Wellness is a rung on the ladder of reaching each our own potential -and of working, living, communing, and reflecting on our impacts on others and our society. I'm forever aiming at well-being for myself and for of all People, as employees, workers, colleagues, friends, family members, neighbours, Persons, and as Humans, in all roles or groups, and at all levels. My belief system and my astute ability to detect and communicate sustainable value, while readily accepting and adopting to change, is the highly discernible difference between what I had to offer yesterday and what I can offer up to Others today. I experience this living/laborious framework as a comprehensive strategy, for home, community, health, and business, that guides me; and that I can effortfully, efficiently, integrally, and effectively employ as I go along the pathway ahead to thrive together as one Canada, one society, one globe, one Earth, and pan-ultimately one population that shows the Universe, the Creator (whomever you conceive of they to be), Mother Nature (yes she is female), and the whole wide world that we are infinite, indivisible, inter-connected, and here for good.

PSA: Public servants at all levels - use your vacation leave. I recently had a conversation with colleagues at the manager and director levels and many of them expressed that they’d cashed out vacation leave for the last couple years as they hadn’t used their full allotted amount of paid time off. Here’s why that’s an issue: - It sets a bad precedent and example for your team if they don’t see you taking your vacation leave. - If you can’t take time off because there’s too much to do or no one you can trust to handle an important file in your absence then you have work to do to develop your team. We should all have backups and no one should be irreplaceable. - When you don’t take the time to disconnect your work and health will suffer. Our minds need time to disconnect from work and reconnect with family, with nature, and with personal interests and hobbies. - Be careful of the arrival fallacy - I’ll take more time when…..when I make the next promotion, when I finish this project, or when my team is ready to fill in. That time may never come if it’s just another year of putting off your work-life balance. I’m thankful to have an amazing team at the Federal Youth Network who I have full faith in to deliver on our team’s priorities whether I’m there or not. I trust them to also take the time to disconnect and give them the same respect to keep them disconnected during paid time off and allow them to recharge for our next busy time. I write this as I disembark from a transatlantic cruise to the UK 🇬🇧 on the way to a family wedding in Scotland 🏴 No matter where you go or what you do with your time off, make sure you take it. Your team will be better for it and your work and creativity will flourish when you’ve had time to recharge, relax and reconnect with your work when you return. #worklifebalance #vacation #leadership

🌞 Memorial Day is approaching, marking the beginning of the summer vacation season! ☀️ As I prepare to leave for a 10-day vacation out of the country this week, one of my co-workers joked that I'm one of the "few" who actually disconnects and doesn't respond to emails while on vacation. 😅 I've always approached vacations this way - isn't that what PTO is for? However, I understand the concerns, especially for those in leadership positions. What happens with your team when you're away? Who ensures they're okay and working? What if there's an emergency? 🤔 Here's the truth: you have to trust your team and designate someone as the go-to person in case of emergencies. It's about delegation, not being constantly available. And remember, your team deserves the same freedom on their PTO. Trust goes both ways. 💼🔌 For those of you checking emails on vacation and even bringing your computer (seriously, why?), here are some quick reminders: 🙅♂️💻 - Continuous email checking affects work-life balance, mental health, relationships, and vacation time. - Unplugging enhances productivity, relationships, and prevents burnout by allowing rest and rejuvenation. - A digital detox is crucial for psychological and physical well-being, benefiting both employees and employers. 🧘♂️🌱 Let's make this summer a time for true relaxation and rejuvenation! Your well-being matters too! 💪🏼✨ #DigitalDetox #WorkLifeBalance

Taking a vacation isn't just a luxury—it's crucial for our mental health, creativity, and overall productivity. Yet, many of us still don't take full advantage of our paid holidays 🏝️ A recent survey showed that 66% of Polish people do not use the entire vacation leave. This is a missed opportunity not only for personal well-being but also for workplace performance. Here’s why taking time off is essential: - Reduces Burnout: Regular vacations are proven to lower stress levels, preventing burnout. - Boosts Creativity: Time away from work allows your brain to relax, leading to fresh ideas and perspectives. - Improves Productivity: Employees who take vacations return to work more focused, energized, and effective. So, if you’ve been hesitating to book that holiday, consider this your reminder. Taking time off isn’t just good for you—it’s good for your work too. Don’t let your paid vacation days go to waste☀️ #WorkLifeBalance #ECLTeamKrakow

Our vacation policy requires employees to take 40 hours of vacation every year. It's a bit unconventional, but important to our success. Our environment can be high stress and non-stop work. We are 100% remote which makes it even harder to unplug sometimes. In order to help with potential burnout and mental health, I force 40 hours of time off. Our time off benefit is generous for our size. Three weeks of accrued vacation, most major holidays plus the week between Christmas and New Year's, and a separate sick time benefit. But those offerings are only valuable if used. I know I have employees who would just take the holidays off and work themselves into a frenzy the rest of the year. They don't have to take the time all at once, just throughout the year, every year. It's important everyone gets that time to unwind, unplug and relax. Does your org do anything unconventional like this? #smallbusiness #smallbusinesshr #startup #hrconsulting
