Another example of someone using different artistic elements to bring back to life an existing artform or object but with a diferent frame of interpretation. Basically what I am trying to do with Ainoarts. https://lnkd.in/ethHGE5m #ainoarts #artisticexpression

How does #perception influence artistic meaning-making? The #meaning of a work of art is #subjective, not fixed. Viewers #experience #art through the #lens of #cultural #belief #systems, which are constantly shifting. Alois Riegl, Austrian Art Historian, developed the concept of the “#Kunstwollen”, which refers to the #intrinsic #social #value #structures used to #interpret artistic and cultural production. “The “Kunstwollen” of our epoch profoundly determines the perception of the past: there is no objective past … but only a continual refraction of the absent in the memory of the present.” Kurt Forster Drawing example from my sketchbook-Lighthouse Studio: Dec.01, 2024 #Creativity is Activity. #Focus on the #process. #Response #Ability #Daily #Drawing #Decisions

Who decides that a piece of art is authentic ? 🤝 A question that any art lover will have asked at least once in life. First, we must remember that an artwork, to be considered as such, needs to be recognized as authentic through a document, a certificate. Who issues this document? We have three options. 🧾 1. The still living artist or the gallery representing him/her, who expresses his moral values on the work of art and has the power not to recognize the authenticity of some of them circulating on the market. 2. Relatives, partners, heirs, distant relatives of the artist himself/herself if he/she is no longer alive; 3. Art experts and art historians who constitute the Archives and Foundations commissions. The former, concentrate their energies in the updating and organizing the documents and the production of an artist through databases and publications, the latter can be defined as stable organizations dedicated to the care and management of a heritage destined, with non-economic purposes, to the community. Which rules should be followed in order to draw up the certificate? 📢 This is where the problems arise. Rules, methods and practices depend on individuals, commissions and institutions, and therefore the "opinions" on the authenticity of a work of art turn out to be extremely subjective and contestable. Hence the increasingly widespread practice of living artists to create an archive, and therefore a numbering, of the pieces produced along their careers so as to make any future dispute difficult. #ArtAdvisory #Advisors #Curators #Certificate #Authenticity #Artworks #Experts #Archive #Foundation #Heirs #Artist #news #gallery #Arthistorian #Art #Issues #professionals https://lnkd.in/edAc-MNY

The Non-Human Animal Artist: Toward the Presentation of an Artistic Species-Companionship in Circus by Franziska Trapp, Natan Alberca, and Sabrina Sow, Journal for Artistic Research 34, 2024. https://lnkd.in/e4nrAK6b keywords: contemporary circus, dramaturgy, non-human, horses, dialogue, visual art, academic research, poetry How can we practice, think, and write contemporary circus beyond the human? What would it mean to create new modes of performance that would (re)valorize the animal in the ring? This exposition presents an exploration of the inventive, creative, and active dimensions of non-human animals in the context of circus. In 2022, we — Natan Hansi Alberca (multidisciplinary visual artist), Franziska Trapp (dramaturge and researcher), and Sabrina Sow (equestrian artist) — came together to create a vivid dialogue between practice and reflection, artistic and academic research, informed and naive approaches. We now exhibit our exchange through video installations, academic writings, and poems, that expand on, express agreement with, or contradict each other. Our intention is to make perceptible how artistic and reflective processes are fundamentally intertwined. It seems that the frame is intended but not necessary. The title "It seems that the frame is intended but not necessary" seems to refer to the philosophy of aesthetics and the notion of frame in art. Indeed, the frame is often considered an essential element to define and present a work of art, but it can also be seen as a superfluous or arbitrary element. In the context of Kant's philosophy, this title can be interpreted as a reference to the distinction between the noumenal and the phenomenal. According to Kant, the noumenal designates the thing in itself, that is, the object as it exists independently of our perception, while the phenomenal designates the object as it is perceived by us. In this sense, we could say that the frame is "wanted" insofar as it is an element intentionally created by the artist to present his work, but that it is not "necessary" insofar as it is not part of the thing in itself, that is, the work of art itself. Indeed, the frame can be seen as an element that influences our perception of the work of art, but is not part of the work itself. It is therefore a phenomenal element, which depends on our perception and interpretation, rather than a noumenal element, which would be inherent to the work itself. This interpretation is in line with Kant's philosophy, which emphasizes the distinction between the noumenal and the phenomenal, and how our perception and interpretation influence our understanding of reality. 2736 x 2160 px / mp4 / 59 s / 103 Mo / 12 fps 10 éditions at 10 #xtz : piece N° 19/30 : collection #noumenon a subrealist reread based on the masterpiece by : Dancer Onstage - Edgar Degas - 1877 Original works On view at : The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York 813th minted pieces on objkt: https://lnkd.in/eFksc-gR shared with magic fam´s 🥰 Sol Fayerman Hansen Jean Minguet Arnaud RAMUS Daniel Kramer Eleanna Fulop Justine Vilgrain Yvonne Senouf Hela Mouelhi Christian 'Sumo' Pearson Christine Raibaldi Matthieu Mifsud, Phd Sylvain Levy Saeko Ehara Carine Asscher Amelie Bourdinaud Peter Conradi Ryan Tanaka Braw Haus
