Podcasting ad network Adopter Media felt compelled to issue a statement and new guidelines for the use of AI-generated voice in host-read ads. The whole thing is worth a read as it gets into some interesting ethical questions around the use of AI -generated voice, but this bit strikes at the heart of the matter: "...nothing can replace a host’s true authentic voice in a personal endorsement and the connection that voice makes to the audience. Using AI to read a “personal” endorsement—unless done for accessibility purposes—is both disingenuous and unethical.."
