The recent claims by the AIr Peace Chairman was supposed to be anticipated. Oh Yes!!! The idea was fantastic and brilliant but again the best strategy to me would have been to observe the competitor and if they had their tickets at N3m, Air peace would have given theirs at N2.5m. With the hospitality, a lot of people will decide to go with them. When other airlines drop their prices, Air Peace reduces it further. At the end, it'll get to a point that all parties will be at a very low rate where only those with the best services will get more customers. If other airlines are dropping their prices below break-even, how is Air peace making their money at the current rate? Was Air Peace trying to replicate what they did in the local flight route? Do they know that they are dealing with big money league multinationals? N1.2m was too low and this was going to spark a retaliation from those that have monopolize that route. They should have expected such response. Did they start such a move without risk factors and considerations? My question is why take such a bold step when you do not have the financial capabilities to fight the price war? Honestly, the same people clamoring and soliciting for Air peace will still book flights with these foreign airlines when their prices are lower than that of Air peace. What do you think? Was Air Peace too fast or has their pricing strategy backfired?

✈️ Is #BusinessAviation under threat in the UK and European Union? The UK's #AutumnBudget contained the widely anticipated rise in Air Passenger Duty (APD) but also a less widely expected headline increase in APD of a further 50% on private aircraft. Partner Mark Bisset and Knowledge Lawyer Aron Dindol consider the impact of the UK Autumn Budget in the context of the trend across Europe for increased taxes on aviation, and private aviation in particular, and the drive for sustainability in aviation: https://bit.ly/3UK3BEr

📢 The #SingleEuropeanSky 2+ (#SES2+) is now law, four years after the Commission’s initial proposal. Yet, the European Air Traffic Management (#ATM) system still faces significant challenges. ✈️ The network is at breaking point, delays are increasing, and regional airlines are feeling the strain. ❌ ERA have been urging for a SES2+ that delivers a seamless, harmonised, and cost-efficient ATM system. This was an opportunity for an ambitious reform, but is an opportunity missed. Where do we go from here? 🤔 Any revision will be years away, it is clear all operational stakeholders must increase collaboration to drive innovation, accelerate technological change and deliver a seamless, defragmented European sky. ERA members remain committed to ensuring that European airspace becomes the most sustainable and efficient in the world, and we will continue to advocate for more resilient, harmonised ATM that benefits all.

Progress on SES is one area where Europe has consistently failed to deliver. It is well-documented that the Single European Sky could reduce aviation’s emissions in Europe by up to 10% and airlines have invested in the technology to make this happen. Across Europe, politicians lecture airlines and the public on the need to reduce emissions. And we do need to reduce emissions. But they are failing to act themselves. SES is the low hanging fruit on aviation’s decarbonization journey, politicians are fully empowered, and yet Member State vested interests continue to get in the way.
The failure of the Single European Sky (SES) 2+ package reforms looks inevitable as the Council prepares to vote on amendments to the SES2+ that will gut its vision to modernize European #airtraffic management. SES was meant to triple Europe’s airspace capacity, cut costs in half, improve safety by a factor of 10, and improve environmental performance by 10%. The compromise that the Member States are expected to approve on Friday will prevent the SES from delivering on its promise, dent European competitiveness, and leave much-needed emissions savings unrealized. **Central Office for Delay Analysis: February 2024 Air Transport Delay Overview** We're excited to highlight the advancements in European air transport found in our recent report. Analysis for February 2024 indicates a robust 8.1% rise in air traffic compared to February 2023, with the leap year contributing an extra day of flights as a significant factor in this growth. Moreover, there's been a marked improvement in punctuality: flight delays have been reduced by 3.7 minutes per flight from the previous year, and compared to January 2024, we've seen a decrease of 3.8 minutes in departure delays and 3.5 minutes in arrival delays, signaling substantial enhancements across the network. Dive into our report for a detailed exploration of the trends and dynamics driving these positive shifts. https://lnkd.in/d8-cUCFX #eurocontrol #centralofficefordelayanalysis #coda #allcausesdelays #aviation #aviationintelligence #delays #networkimprovement
