While 2019 was the year of all records, where is the evolution of air traffic at the end of 2023? The news is pretty good since we are not very far from achieving the same results! Traffic at French airports is indeed only 7 points away from that of 2019. 198,680,952 commercial passengers traveled in 2023. 🛫 This represents almost 15% more travelers compared to 2022. L'Union des Aéroports Français (UAF) data on the activity results of French airports in 2023 shows an increase in the number of passengers, but a decrease in aircraft movements. This is reinforced by the increase in average capacity on traditional flights and an even greater increase on low-cost flights. Will 2024 be the year of equilibrium? What do you think? 🤔 #MBAviation #lowcost #AirTraffic

If you examine the 150 busiest airports in Europe, which account for approximately 83% of total passenger traffic (2.3 billion in 2023), and compare their passenger numbers in 2023 to those in pre-pandemic 2019, you can easily identify the winners and losers. In 2023, airports in Europe didn't reach pre-pandemic levels (-5.3%). This year, however, ACI EUROPE has reported that air traffic numbers (Q1 and Q2) have returned to pre-pandemic levels.
