Alliance Airlines has applied to the U.S. Department of Transportation for an exemption and statement of authorisation to display the American Airlines AA code on flights it operates on behalf of Qantas, specifically Embraer 190 services between Brisbane (BNE) and Adelaide (ADL), Canberra (CBR), Cairns (CNS), Hobart (HBA), and Townsville (TSV). The filing says the purpose of the application is to "provide online connecting service of American to flights transporting US - Australia traffic of American Airlines, including flights operated by American directly and American codeshare service operated by Qantas Airways or by any other carrier authorised to display the AA code on those routes." American is due to launch its seasonal flights between Brisbane and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) later this month. oneworld Alliance partner Qantas flies between Brisbane and Los Angeles (LAX). #airlines #news #aviation #alliances #codeshares #brisbane #travel

Air Belgium Ends ACMI Agreement with LOT, Transfers A330neo to Azul - After a one-year ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) agreement, Air Belgium and LOT Polish Airlines have ended their collaboration involving an Airbus A330neo. This aircraft, serial number 1844, was based in Warsaw under Air Belgium’s operation for LOT’s long-haul services. Following this transition, the A330neo is slated for redelivery to its lessor, Air Lease Corporation in the U.S., for future leasing to Brazilian airline Azul. This move reflects Air Belgium’s operational shift amid changes in the competitive European airline leasing market, as leasing arrangements often enable airlines to address seasonal fluctuations and expand route options with minimal upfront costs. - https://lnkd.in/dNcPZkeH

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is readyto resume flights on European routes after the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) lifted its ban on the national carrier. PIA plans to restart operations to key cities like Manchester and Paris, with final approval from EASA still pending. The airline is finalizing flight schedules and marketing arrangements for these destinations. Previously, PIA operated flights to cities such as Barcelona, Birmingham, Bradford, and London, but the ban halted operations. PIA aims to reintroduce services to Copenhagen, Oslo, and Amsterdam as part of its European network expansion. In addition to European routes, PIA is also working to resume flights to New York.
