This is definitely a Friday post! I saw this lorry after my lunch time HIT class and it really made me chuckle. Fabulous name for a business of course and such a striking colour for effluent services 😉 On my drive home I was reflecting on the value we place on names and the importance of acknowledging others by using their names as it builds greater connection and demonstrates respect of others – whether this is someone at the supermarket check-out, colleagues, clients or someone we’ve just met at an event. And of course, many of us find it challenging to remember the names of people we meet – what tips do you have? These are mine (in addition to a plea for event organisers to print first names in larger font sizes on name badges 🙏 ) ·        Focus on listening when you are introduced ·        Respond straight away by repeating the name back to the person ·        Use the name a few times straight away in conversation with the person ·        Introduce the person to someone else ·        Find an association between the person’s name and something that is meaningful to you – this strategy has never actually worked for me – but others swear by it. What tips do you have?
