Industrial robotic technologies have been a mainstay of many industries for decades now, and are only getting better and better! The earliest examples likely originated in automotive assembly plants in the 1960s. Today, the oil and gas industry benefits from such robotic tools as: 1️⃣ Smart pigs that scour the insides of pipelines for fractures and corrosion 2️⃣ Remotely operated vehicles for inspecting and repairing subsea infrastructure 3️⃣ Aerial drones for inspecting assets at height 4️⃣ Robotic tank cleaning robots that remove sludge build up in storage tanks and inspect for damage.
