Air Partner Cargo transports humanitarian aid to Gaza ⚡ Air Partner’s Cargo Division, a global leader in full-service logistics, completed a cargo operation to transport 85-90 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including temporary shelters, per flight for people in Gaza. The operation involved three flights using a 747-400 aircraft. Two flights took off from Liege Airport in Belgium, and the third flight left from Nairobi Airport Kenya, all bound for Larnaca International Airport (LCA) in Cyprus. The operation successfully delivered over 280 tons of relief items to the region. Due to the ongoing conflict resulting in closed borders, the aid was flown to Cyprus to be transported via sea to the floating pier constructed off the coast of Gaza. It operated from international airports, which allowed for any potential issues regarding permits and traffic rights to be easily organised prior to the mission. However, the primary challenge involved efficiently loading the cargo due to the need to palletise it, resulting in the aircraft reaching its weight capacity before its volume limit. Despite the challenges of handling such heavy cargo, the mission was executed flawlessly, demonstrating Air Partner’s expertise and dedication, due to sector length, high-density freight and restricted airspace avoidance, we were limited on payload restrictions yet managed to take on the maximum number of relief items at a competitive price. https://lnkd.in/eWHxFs7U #AirPartnerCargo #HumanitarianAid #LogisticsLeaders #CargoOperation #GlobalAid #AirFreight #LogisticsExpertise

Across #Gaza, UNRWA and other humanitarian agencies face continuous challenges to deliver aid to people. Access limitations imposed by Israeli authorities and difficulties on the ground are hindering the process: Time: Aid crossing into Gaza is subject to complex requirements during the offload. Once it crosses, the hours of operation when the United Nations is allowed by Israel to collect the cargo are limited and subject to change with little to no notice. Cold chain: Sensitive cold-chain cargo (food and medicines) get offloaded and left exposed until the United Nations is allowed to pick them up. On several occasions, the cold chain is broken for 12-24 hours. Critical medicines and perishable items face serious risks of spoilage. Safety of our teams: Aid convoys have been hit by drones and strikes during this war. The measures we need to take for the security of the operators and the cargo further slow down the process. Humanitarians are #NotATarget Space: UNRWA’s main logistics base in Rafah is only partially operational; Warehouses & distribution space is limited throughout #Gaza as most we can no longer reach or have been destroyed. Also, trucks screened by COGAT & Israeli authorities are typically only half full. The trucks: Since the beginning of the war, most trucks used for transporting aid have been damaged or destroyed. The fleet available in Gaza is extremely limited, while importing new ones is nearly impossible. This month an average of 180 trucks enter Gaza every day. We need: 1. Safe & unimpeded access throughout the #GazaStrip, including the north. 2. Allow the UN to bring in trucks into Gaza to speed up picking up humanitarian agencies. 3. Regular and sustained access to collect humanitarian supplies.

Charter Aviation Evacuations in Conflict Zones: A Lifeline in Crisis ✈🆘️🤝 In times of crisis, charter aviation plays a crucial role in facilitating evacuations and providing humanitarian aid, especially in conflict regions like Sudan and Lebanon. As airports and airspaces become volatile due to escalating tensions, commercial flights often halt operations, leaving civilians, foreign nationals, and humanitarian workers stranded. In such cases, charter services step in, offering flexibility and rapid response capabilities. Recent evacuations in Sudan, for example, showcased the importance of chartered flights as international airports like Khartoum and Merowe were heavily damaged during the conflict. With commercial aviation services disrupted, charter operators, in coordination with governments and NGOs, ensured the safe transport of vulnerable groups, from medical patients to children and the elderly. In Lebanon, where violence can escalate quickly, chartered flights recently evacuated British nationals as part of coordinated efforts to prioritize those most at risk. Such operations highlight the vital role that flexible, responsive charter services play in ensuring safety and mobility during emergencies. Moreover, we must extend a standing ovation to the dedicated workers at these airfields who operate under challenging conditions. Their commitment and professionalism enable these critical missions to succeed, often at great personal risk👏👏 Charter aviation continues to serve as a lifeline during these challenging times, providing an essential service when standard aviation channels are unavailable or unsafe.

🇱🇧 Adapting humanitarian logistics for an emergency response in #Lebanon 🇱🇧 Over the past several months, over one million people have been displaced due to the ongoing emergency in Lebanon. International organisations and NGOs need to find new, flexible solutions to procurement and service provision to provide key supports to people in need. Here's how hulo and its participants have reshaped their approaches to handle this crisis: 📦 Procurement with open tenders, resulting in multiple compliant suppliers and service providers. This allows for the selection of suppliers across the country, helping humanitarian organisations adapt their purchasing and increase market availabilities during a critical period. 💻 Maintaining a database of suppliers and service providers, facilitating access to a list of contacts for humanitarian needs such as transportation, IT, food, and other markets. 📊 Assessing market conditions to identify trends and resource availability. This analysis then offers insights to help both local NGOs and international organisations make informed procurement decisions in a challenging context. ✈️ Thanks to the support of EU in Emergencies, 2 new EU Humanitarian Air Bridge flights have departed for Lebanon, delivering humanitarian cargo to organisations and beneficiaries in the field. Learn more about our activities in Lebanon and how to get involved here ⬇️ https://hulo.coop/ Our response is made possible through the generous support of the European Commission, Ministère des Affaires étrangères français, and USAID - Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance. #humanitarianaid #hulocoop #humanitaire #logistique #supplychainmanagement #humanitarianlogistics

The UAE has been at the forefront of providing robust humanitarian assistance to Sudan and neighbouring countries affected by conflicts. As highlighted by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan, the total relief aid extended by the Emirates to those in need has surpassed $150 million. This includes critical supplies like food, medicine and relief materials. Furthermore, the UAE established a field hospital costing $20 million in Abéché city, Chad, to support Sudanese refugees - the second such facility opened by the nation. Sheikh Shakhboot emphasized the unwavering support of UAE leadership for the brotherly people of Sudan. Ensuring unhindered delivery of aid has been a priority given the humanitarian challenges faced. The UAE also seeks to collaboratively address the root causes by facilitating an immediate and permanent ceasefire through a return to inclusive political processes. UAE believes wisdom and reason must prevail to reach a peaceful resolution of ongoing crises and fulfill people's aspirations. The UAE has also repeatedly called for joint international efforts to end ongoing conflicts in Sudan for lasting security, stability and prosperity. Preventing loss of lives and meeting development goals of Sudanese citizens are important objectives. By prioritizing diplomacy and cooperation over confrontation, the UAE hopes ongoing crises can be resolved to allow communities to rebuild in a sustainable manner.
