𝗜𝗠 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 € 𝟮,𝟲𝟱𝟭 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗶𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 The Netherlands Enterprise Agency awarded IM Efficiency €2.65 million under the SolarNL program to integrate solar panels into 10,000 trailers by 2028, with a goal to produce 100,000 solar-equipped trailers per year. IM Efficiency’s "SolarOnTop" technology, designed for both diesel and electric trucks, reduces fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions by up to 10% per truck. This project aims to cut the transport sector’s carbon footprint and support the shift to sustainable, renewable energy in Europe’s freight industry. According to Business Post, Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), has seen an incredible surge in #solarpanels grants for businesses in Ireland. ⚡Electrification and clean energy generation are a huge opportunity for Europe's sustainability and industrial competitiveness. 💰European consumers paid €600 billion for fossil fuels from third countries in 2022, and the European industry pays 158% more for electricity and 345% more for natural gas than the US. The potential cost savings from investing in renewable energy infrastructure, from generation to grid modernization, and electrifying transportation, buildings and industry are huge. And with them comes security and sovereignty. Dealroom.co and GROW with SAP for Scaleups’ new report analyzes Europe’s Electrification highlighting the crucial role VC funding and startups are playing in driving this transformation. 🌱 European Climate Tech total private financing is projected to hit a record $50B this year. GenLab, based in Widnes, Cheshire, took major steps to enhance its energy efficiency with help from Groundwork. In 2022, Groundwork's sustainability consultants developed a comprehensive plan for Genlab, including: -Desktop audit for variable speed drives. -Introduction of energy-saving battery tools. -Cost-benefit analysis of roof-mounted solar PV systems. -Modern leak detection technology. -Engaging with an energy broker for optimal tariffs. -Installing LED lighting for quick payback and reduced consumption. Thanks to these efforts, Genlab's energy bills, which were projected to rise to £120,000-£140,000, were kept at a more manageable £75,000. The latest data from Canary Media reveals a remarkable surge in clean energy investment in the U.S.!  In Q1 2024, private investors injected $71 billion into clean energy and EVs, marking a 40% increase from the previous year. 🔍Retail sales took the lead, with $31 billion in households and businesses purchasing zero-emissions vehicles, solar, and storage. 🔍Deployment of clean energy and industrial decarbonization followed closely, boasting $24 billion in investments, majorly driven by utility-scale solar and storage projects. 🔍Emerging technologies like hydrogen, carbon capture, and sustainable aviation fuels received a substantial boost, attracting $6.3 billion in total investments, a significant increase from previous years. 🔍In the manufacturing sector, there has been a $17 billion surge in investment in clean manufacturing, with the EV supply chain dominating and accounting for 85% of investments.
