It's official! #AIC2024, the ASAM International Conference in Munich, Dec. 04-05, is the largest gathering of AVEAS-Projekt partners and supporters in history – outside of dedicated project workshops. Tille Karoline Rupp from Porsche Engineering will speak about Large Language Models (#LLM) to generate critical driving situations for virtual and hybrid ADAS/AD testing. Thorsten Püschl from dSPACE will speak about the reduction of the residual #risk using ASAM standards in a SOTIF-compliant validation process. Matthias Pfriem from PTV Group will speak about microscopic traffic #simulation as part of an interactive test environment for ADAS functions. And Jens R. Ziehn from Fraunhofer IOSB will summarize the findings of the AVEAS-Projekt towards a systematic acquisition of critical traffic scenarios for virtual validation, and the joint use of the ASAM #OpenDRIVE, #OpenLABEL and #OpenSCENARIO for data-driven virtual validation. I had a great time at this year's American Control Conference in Toronto. The engaging technical sessions, well-organized workshops, and fun social events were a great way to meet so many inspiring people and learn so much. I presented the outcomes of my research work under Dr. Stephanie Stockar at The Ohio State University Center for Automotive Research, on using transfer learning to achieve centralized mobile robot fleet management. By exploiting the fact that in the context of intrafactory material handling operations, nominal task requirements are well-defined and known in advance, our proposed framework first encodes knowledge of the nominal search space within a search tree. Whenever a change is realized in real world operation, the transfer learning algorithm reutilizes this knowledge to rapidly update the task distribution between the fleet robots.
