"Onamata, onāianei, anamata, mo te ake ake". This is our own whakatauki, gifted to us by Jymal Morgan from Ōnuku Runanga, that speaks of how we draw from our past, embrace the present, and build for our future. This guides what we do here at Akaroa King Salmon, a proud 100% Aotearoa owned partnership that includes Ngati Porou and Ōnuku Runanga. The principles of this whakawhanaungatanga (partnership) sign our commitment to: Long term environmental sustainability — so that our mokopuna (grandchildren) can enjoy the beautiful taonga that is Akaroa Harbour. An intergenerational view of development that goes beyond normal business practice. A commitment to contribute to the growth and opportunities for the Ōnuku Runanga, Ngati Porou people, and our local communities. #tewikiotereomāori #whakatauki #hāmana #supportlocal #intergenerationalsustainability

Brand: EMotorad 🚲 I always have a stronger feeling for brands that have been able to get recognition for their products and not just because of their promotional efforts. For an impactful marketing experience, a product should be equally valued through its impactful user experience. It’s always about what value you can bring to the customer’s table. This advertising is a classic example of marvelous branding through conveying product innovation that caters to powerful customer experience. Remember, changing a habit of a customer is not easy, it requires outstanding product which can create greater value, however, it also requires more vigorous promotional efforts that can convey the same value. I totally loved the way customer seek for the value here and beautifully the whole value is illustrated through effective product benefits. 🌟Kudos to team. 🍀 EMotorad 💥

Let's Analyze this Ad by EMotorad Upon first watching this ad, I immediately noticed its simplicity. The writing felt strong, there was no forced emotional swing, and the product's introduction wasn’t overly flashy. Even the tagline landed well because MSD’s subtle smile served as a natural response. Nothing felt over the top, cliched, or excessive, which is precisely what you’d want from a company’s second ad. When crafting an ad, so much needs to be conveyed in a short time. It’s impressive when an ad manages to do that with simplicity, and this one did. Now, let’s break it down. 1. MSD's makes bike sounds: The sounds MSD makes, like "DHUK DHUK" and "VROOM VROOM," suggest his skepticism about the e-bike’s performance compared to a traditional motorbike. These sounds play on the idea that young enthusiasts often judge bikes based on their sound. MSD symbolizes that young rider who initially doubts the product, reflecting a common perception. 2. Set Design: The garage filled with motorbikes symbolizes MSD’s personal collection. The ad’s team creates a narrative where they are pitching this product directly to MSD in his own space. The garage setting cleverly compares the electric bike to conventional ones without pushing the message. This subtle psychological trick makes viewers naturally consider the advantages of an e-bike without heavy-handed persuasion. 3. Repetition of Sounds: The ad begins and ends with the same bike sounds but with a shift in meaning. What started as skeptical noises becomes a reaffirmation of the product’s value by the end. This evolution mirrors how we process new information, discovering the product’s significance through MSD’s journey in the ad. 4. Targeting Audiences: The ad subconsciously targets kids while consciously appealing to adults, ensuring the brand’s longevity. With Dhoni’s cross-generational appeal, the brand captures both current buyers and future ones. 5. MSD’s Role: Dhoni acts childlike, using the word "Dil" in the tagline to evoke nostalgia, blending the fun of childhood with modern technology. This emotional touch strengthens the connection between the product and the audience. Kudos to EMotorad and One Hand Clap for such a good ad. We love it. Keep em coming. #MSDhoni #EMotorad #namanwrites #contentwriting #writing #ad

The theme of #TeWikioteReoMāori this year is Ake Ake Ake (a forever language) so we thought we'd share a whakatauki that is relevant to the concept of sustainability and the three words that are central to our kaupapa - Whakawhirinaki (Trust), Whakamanawa, (Confidence) and Whakamārama (Accountability). Whatungarongaro te tangata, toitū te whenua As people disappear from sight, the land remains This whakatauki speaks to the importance and permanence of land. While people come and go, the land remains. As humans we rely on the land. We must think long-term and see the big picture to ensure the sustainability of the land.
