🌟 What an Unforgettable Experience at Studyathon with Cover Craze! 🌟 Just wrapped up my firstever Studyathon, organized by the amazing team at Cover Crease, and it was such a rollercoaster of learning and excitement! 🚀 Held at PESU 52 with nearly 40 teams competing, we were challenged to create and publish a magazine from scratch.📖💼 Round 1 kicked off with topic selection through chits. We landed on “Visual Branding in Educational Institutions and the Role of Students”. 🎨🏫 My team and I dove into research, exploring how visual branding leaves lasting impressions, builds emotional connections, and helps institutions stand out. 💡💥 Dividing tasks, each teammate tackled a section, ensuring our content was both AI and plagiarismfree. 👩💻📚 Round 2 was where the creativity flowed! 💻✨ Using Canva, we designed the magazine with structured content and a captivating story about a student discovering the power of visual branding. 📸 We brought out strategies like digital presence, audiencecentric visuals, and messaging that resonated with students, parents, and alumni alike. 👨🎓👩🎓 Finally, Round 3 the marketing showdown! 💥 Presenting our magazine to the judges (our "publishers") was exhilarating, and our hard work paid off when we secured second place! 🏆🎉 This immersive experience taught me the power of teamwork, creativity, and the importance of strong leadership skills. Let’s take a journey through our childhood experiences. Imagine if as a twelve-year old, you were allowed to make decisions for your life? That you had control over how you spent your day and every single decision that went behind it? Wouldn’t you love it? According to research by NAEYC, agency fosters curiosity and holistic development in our children, and allows them to reach their full potential. When our children explored Canva for the first time in their lives and were given control over designing their menus and becoming owners of a restaurant through a project-based learning experience, they were able to express their creativity and find purpose in their learning. This is what we try to achieve at Vidyun - that our children are given the agency and access to opportunities to chart out their own life, based on decisions they make. It radically changes how they begin to envision their day-to-day lives, and then it sows the seeds for what they can accomplish in the future. One word to describe this Fall!? 😱 The fall semester is nearly over, and it has been a whirlwind. We asked our students for one word to describe their first semester. Our lovely behind-the-scenes content strategist Dyna divulged a little bit more: "Finals are turned in, and I’m counting down to the last day of class before the holiday break. The fall semester has been an incredible start to the Masters in Branding program. My classmates and I are now trend forecasters and equipped to build better brands. We’ve learned so much in 3 months from esteemed professionals who are passionate about branding. Higher Ed Marketing: Ditch the Brochure, Embrace the Adventure At DeVito/Verdi, working across the Higher Ed category, we see an overload of 'institutional' messages persist. Ironically, the university embodies the ultimate experiential lifestyle brand. For many, college will be a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, yet the advertising feels like a brochure for the DMV. Higher Ed should be a marketer's dream job, but for whatever reason, the advertising is liking watching paint dry. Cue the campus stock image + CTA. Unfortunately, "authenticity" in the advertising world has become a signal of jargon, used to cloak conformity. But unlike sugary drinks selling a fantasy of happiness, universities authentically create happiness as a life experience. There's opportunity to connect with students, faculty and parents on a deeper level. A shift from institutional to emotional, like a DTC lifestyle brand. #creativitymatters

For now, we're working with "default", "STEM", Hemingway, and, believe it or not, Homer Simpson. We started off by putting the latter in just to see how silly it would be... only to find that several of our visitors really rather enjoyed the Homer Simpson style that we added just to do something different. It was then that we realized that the delivery method really doesn't matter: what matters is to provide the information, so this clearly made education more accessible and effective for part of our audience. 👩🏫 Didn’t think the day would come this soon, but I just took my first guest lecture! The lovely folks at The LIT School invited me to share my experience on decoding creative briefs and building pitches that hit the sweet spot between functionality and creativity. It was exciting being on the other side of the classroom—and yes, I had my “keep your phones away” moment (cheap thrills, haha!) Jest aside, I shared 3 key aspects that have been my personal guide when tackling briefs: 1. Asking the right (even seemingly stupid) questions 2. Empathising with the person giving the brief. Their objectives vary based on their job function and understanding this matters. 3. Smart research. How to do it right, and do lots of it! There’s real power in understanding business whilst being a creative professional, and it makes me happy to see people actively learning this.
