𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - 𝗡𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 🌊 Water is the life maker and sustainer for the lives on Earth. To me, this is the most noblest of all deeds. Every macro-organism needs water to regulate the body temperature and to assist in transporting nutrients. ⏰A Giraffe can go without water for 21 days, a Camel 15 days, Cheetah 10 days, an Elephant 4 days, and a human just 3 days. What will we do without water, for the very place is nicknamed "The Blue Planet"‼️ • #watermanagement #lakes #waterconservation #savesoil #bengaluruwatercrisis
#BounceBackRamnad #WaterForRamnad 15-kilometer-long Sankarathevan Canal was restored by us last year, the canal has the capacity to fill hundreds of lakes and ponds. This canal is located in Ramanathapuram district, which is known for frequent droughts and water scarcity. Despite several obstacles and Challenges we successfully restored Sankarathevan canal. As I always say when you do something for mother nature she will bless us manifold, the same happened in Ramanathapuram also, It rained heavily after we finished our restoration work, and this canal carried rainwater to hundreds of lakes and ponds, and the ponds and lakes were fully filled with water after several years. The picture below is of Saayalkudi aalattu Kanmoi, this is one of the hundreds of lakes, wells, and ponds that have been recharged with increased ground level due to our water conservation efforts. People happily shared this picture with me and they are extremely happy to see the pond getting filled with water after several decades and the people reaping the benefits of it. Ps: The water in the lake is not rainwater!!! Due to Sankarathevan Canal restoration work; a 500-acre Saayalkudi lake was filled to capacity aalattu pond and hundreds of other waterbodies in the nearby region got recharged. Aalattu Oorani was once dry and used as a playground for several years; it is now completely filled with water. Area of the lake: 8 acres Capacity: 12 crore litres Together Lets Make Our Mother Earth Green Again💚 #JusticeForRamnad #SaveRamnad

Varanasi, the ancient city steeped in history and religion, was facing a modern-day crisis – a depleting groundwater table. Three of its eight development blocks were classified as “dark zones,” indicating severe water scarcity. However, a determined initiative by the Chief Development Officer (CDO), led by IAS officer Himanshu Nagpal, has turned the tide. The crux of the problem lay in the excessive reliance on groundwater. Many industries, hotels, and establishments freely extract water through borewells, often without proper authorization (NOC) or rainwater harvesting systems in place. This unsustainable practice further strained the already stressed aquifers. The administration’s innovative project aimed to address this very issue. To know about his multi-pronged approach, click on the link given below: https://lnkd.in/gvGjhZBB Writes Muskan Khandelwal #varanasi #rainwaterharvesting #rainwater #himanshunagpal #ias #iasofficer #noc

AMRITSAR/JALANDHAR TRIBUNE 22-7-2024 Open house: What steps should the govt take to ensure setting up of rainwater harvesting system at homes? Raise awareness, motivate residents to conserve water Difficult to implement in old city areas It is easy to introduce rainwater harvesting mechanism in new buildings and houses that are under construction but it is difficult to introduce this mechanism in the old cities which are already thickly populated with narrow lanes. Even then, this mechanism can be introduced in parks or schools. The rainwater harvesting system will be successful only if all the norms are followed because if proper norms are not followed, there is always a fear of groundwater getting polluted. The best alternative of recharging groundwater is of following the same mechanism in the canals, and digging of ponds where land is available so that through seepage of water from the ponds, groundwater is recharged. Even when it rains, the ponds will be filled to capacity and pave the way through seepage, recharging the groundwater level. It is up to the administration to ensure that when the house plan is approved, planting of a tree and strictly following the pattern of rainwater harvesting is made mandatory. It will certainly yield positive and effective results in future. #From #heart #to #water #conservation. Hello everyone, the situation we are experiencing in Maharashtra today is very bad and troubling regarding water, from last 17 years of #implementation of #water #conservation one thing has been realized that the rightful water of #every #village should be maintained by the villagers. , the flowing water should be stopped in the village itself but this adverse #effect. Why stop the water falling in the village, I will do this work myself, do I need water alone, from where to get enough water, then what is the use of thinking about the village? Many such questions have arisen and the citizens suffering from these thoughts are reluctant to come forward and lend a helping hand and it is seen that the result is not allowing the work to be done. So come forward by writing a post, help, cooperate, what have we done today, where are we today and where will we be tomorrow? Is #water #limited or #unlimited? Where is the water is another #question for those who #answered that the water is in the #ground. If there is water in the ground, if 100 borewells are taken today, will 1 to 2 need water? #Everything #else is #dry and #98's money goes to water, earlier water was required at 30 to 40 feet, today #only #dust is required at 1000 to 1200 feet then why water in soil? Where we have reached 1200 feet, there is no water, but it is true that if we take borewells of the same depth, #volcanoes will #come out of the #ground, but awareness needs to be created in this mindset. First, therefore, first the #cultivation of the #mind will be #possible, then the work of #water #conservation will be #possible. For that, we need your support, we need to be ready to know the issue of water, we need to learn this attitude of mind, he insisted. So let's see what helps. Rahul Patil Jaywant Pratishthan, Guntur

In the rural villages of Gwakwani, Matatani, and Mbodi, the struggle for water defines the daily hardships of the residents. Broken and disused boreholes scatter the landscape, symbolizing the lack of financial resources and expertise needed to repair them. Goats and donkeys search for scarce patches of grass, wandering across the dry, desolate terrain. Some gather on broken concrete slabs—remnants of once-functional boreholes—desperate, like the villagers, for a reliable source of water. This reality highlights the urgent need for sustainable solutions to address water scarcity in these communities. The process of water percolation is crucial for groundwater recharge, but it's often hindered by the replacement of natural permeable surfaces with impermeable ones like bitumen and concrete. This change in surface cover has led to increased surface runoff and decreased groundwater recharge, exacerbating issues like flooding and water scarcity. Implementing a balanced approach that includes rejuvenating existing water bodies, creating new ones, and strategically placing recharge wells is essential. While recharge wells are effective for replenishing groundwater, they must be carefully managed to avoid overflowing and contributing to flooding. Lakes and other water bodies play a vital role in impounding excess runoff water, reducing the risk of flooding during the rainy season. By restoring the natural water cycle through a combination of measures, we can mitigate the impact of surface runoff, recharge groundwater, and reduce the risk of flooding, ensuring a more sustainable water management system for the future. #bangalore #water #watersupply #recharge #sustainability https://lnkd.in/dSwT_ZbA

Know more about how Triveni addressed sewage challenges in Mathura, enhancing the health of the Yamuna River and the community's well-being. In Mathura, raw sewage was flowing directly into the Yamuna River, creating health hazards for residents and harming aquatic life. To combat this pressing issue, a 30 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) was established, utilizing advanced SBR technology to treat the sewage effectively. Our solution begins with collecting raw sewage from various drains at pump houses, where it undergoes thorough screening to remove debris. The sewage is then pumped to our treatment facility, where it’s treated to meet environmental standards before being safely discharged into the Yamuna. This initiative not only revitalizes the river but also safeguards the health of the surrounding community, enhancing the quality of water supply downstream. Several farm lands in villages are left empty. This is a good model to practice. Very likely the modern owners ( by inheritance) or their future generations, who once lived in city will not come back to these lands. Some one, educated, but with a vision and mission and with a lot of pride being a farmer would turn up from younger generation. Till then, they ' simply' will keep it as a wealth transferred generation to generation. In such cases, why not let the land become fertile by itself, become full of nature in these times? Spend a small sum for the future generation person who will really use this land? Excellent idea to get social afforestation done. According to Sandeep Anirudhan, a fighter for Lakes in Bangalore ( to start with), a core naturalist by practice, say, leave the land free, Nature will make it a forest and water absorbing naturally. No need of human intervention on everything. https://lnkd.in/gkr3ixKw https://lnkd.in/gaqDUuPy

A tiny act and a mountain effect!!! I am converting a 5 acre land into semi-forest, to later make it a Swaraj #Ashram. For the #plantation, we dig big holes. Those holes acted as great water recharging mechanism As a result, the neighbouring farmer had a well, which got filled. He told that that his well never got so filled. The #well is almost overflowing now. How simple it is to live #sustainably. A tiny act brings a mountain of an effect. Wish you all a very Happy Ganesh Chathurthi. May lord Ganesh gives us Buddhi to live sustainably. #EnergySwaraj Energy Swaraj Foundation
