A big thank you to all our clients, friends, and supporters of Space Craft Joinery for making last night's 'Around the Kitchen Counter' event such a success! The energy in the room was fantastic, with familiar and new faces—it was a real treat meeting clients in person who I’d only spoken to over the phone or via email. The team got a real buzz out of it, too! Special shoutout to Amy Springhall, our amazing MC, who brought energy and laughs throughout the night. Amy was the inspiration behind the event, and we’re so grateful she agreed to collaborate with us to make it happen. Our panelists—Kellie, Sally, and Tamsin—shared some valuable insights: - Sally Ness reminded us that turning points often only make sense in hindsight, and her mantra, “Love life and life will love you back,” resonated with everyone. - Tamsin Simounds spoke about leaving radiography to pursue coaching and public speaking, and emphasized that facing our fears is where real growth happens. - Kellie Campbell-Illingworth reflected on winning the Young Gun Award in NYC, a turning point which has opened many doors for her. She encouraged us to stay true to ourselves and own our accomplishments. A huge thank you to Claudia and Peter from Alluca, who served their 2013 Taking Flight Sparkling Rosé—a small batch wine that was a real hit. Peter kept everyone’s glasses topped up all night and this no doubt helped to keep the conversation flowing! Before wrapping up, I shared some exciting news: Over 50% of our best clients come from referrals. To build on that, we’ll be sending out a survey to ask what kind of incentive would encourage you to refer us more actively. Whether it’s a case of wine, a local restaurant voucher, or a weekend getaway at Ingoldby Road, we want your feedback! Finally, a huge shoutout to the team for their help getting this event off the ground, especially Karen, who was as emotionally invested as I was. Just two years ago, we started building our Manhattan community. Brian McMahon and I took over 4,000 subway rides to hand-deliver rentals. It didn’t take long for the organic brand love to gain serious momentum, and we were (gladly) able to deploy our on-demand, same-day couriers so that renting could happen at your doorstep in as little as an hour. 100,000+ items, 2,000+ brands, and tens of thousands of people later, we’ve seen and responded to local demand. Most recently, we expanded to LA (ICYMI, WWD's feature), making it possible to rent that $40/week CULT GAIA dress in a Santa Monica closet and have it delivered to your West Hollywood doorstep in an hour - right in time for a last minute event or special occasion. Now, we’re thrilled to be doing the same for Brooklyn! Arguably, two of the most fashionable communities of closets unite; any Brooklynite can rent same-day within their neighborhood or from across the East River, and vice versa for those in Manhattan. We’re excited to bring Pickle to more communities and really embed ourselves in each neighborhood, understanding and celebrating the local nuances, how people like to shop, and who they are, and deliver a more circular, accessible, and fun way to enjoy fashion.
