All animals deserve compassion. ❤️ Most people find it easy to open their hearts to animals like kittens and puppies. But what about our other animal friends, like spiders and snakes? Those animals deserve compassion too—all beings do. Consider this your invitation to share Reiki with the wild animals you encounter (safely, of course). You can use caution and still create a space of unconditional love and connection with them. ✨ You can learn more about Reiki for Wild Animals here: https://lnkd.in/g_tZVtCY

I find the joy of watching wildlife is also the beauty around it! I wanted to share a bit more today with a beautiful evening photo from the Bolivian Pantanal. The bolivia Pantanal is home to various plant and animal life, including 53 species of amphibians, 159 species of mammals, 98 species of reptiles, 656 species of birds, 325 species of fish, 1,030 species of butterflies, and more than 3,500 species of plants. Many of these species are highly threatened, such as the Marsh deer (Blastocerus dichotomus), the giant otter (Pteronura brasiliensis), and the Hyacinth macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus).

No, it’s not too early to celebrate Christmas – the Christmas shearwater, that is [sound on!] These seabirds, called ʻaoʻū on Hawaiian Islands, make an incredible, repeated call, almost like a low-pitched squeaky toy, and return to their birth site every nesting season. At Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge, in the northwestern edge of the Hawaiian archipelago, the last Christmas shearwater (ʻaoʻū) chicks fledge by the end of November. USFWS volunteer video: Dan Rapp Video description: opening big title reads ‘Meet the Christmas Shearwater,’ then fades to show close-up shots of all-black seabird on ground; at 15 seconds fade to close-up shots of gray chick partially obscured under plant roots, with title that reads ‘chick.’
