🚀 Project Title: Simulation of a Mechatronic Machine 🛠 Description: I developed a simulation model for a hydraulically driven boom structure using Simscape Multibody and custom Simscape components for hydraulic valve and piston modeling. This project involved analyzing the system's degrees of freedom, static equilibrium, and dynamic response, including pressure, flow, and force behavior over time. 🔍 Key Achievements: Designed a detailed model topology of the boom structure. Evaluated hydraulic cylinder pressure in static equilibrium. Plotted dynamic responses, identifying peak pressure and flow with corresponding timestamps. Proposed methods to reduce hydraulic oscillation for better system stability. Delivered a comprehensive report in IMRAD format, showcasing results and discussions. 👩🏫 Acknowledgments: This project was completed under the guidance of Aki Mikkola and Dr. Suraj Jaiswal, whose expertise and mentorship greatly enhanced the quality of the work. 📈 Outcome: The project deepened my understanding of hydraulics and system dynamics, laying the groundwork for further studies in mechatronic systems and engineering simulations.

A significant portion of failures in engineering structures is due to issues related to fracture mechanics and fatigue. In the U.S. alone, these issues account for more than $100 billion in losses annually. Since the mid-1900s, the development of methodologies in these areas has made it possible to prevent up to 50% of such failures through the proper application of technology. The effective use of these technologies can extend the lifespan of structural designs and prevent failures. The 8-part mini training series I’ve shared below provides valuable insights for engineers looking to deepen their understanding of fracture mechanics and fatigue. #fractures #fatigues #materials #designengineering #sustainability https://lnkd.in/gCYjvrps

🔧 Inside the Workshop: Precision Engineering in Action! 🔧 Here, Christian is hard at work on a critical component for an evaporator, a key part of our propulsion system. This component plays an essential role in generating the gas needed to pressurize the rocket's fuel and oxidizer tanks. By controlling the pressure within these tanks, the evaporator ensures the precise delivery of fuel to the engines, directly affecting the rocket's thrust and speed. Without this carefully engineered component, the engine's performance could become unpredictable, impacting our rocket's trajectory and mission success. This is a perfect example of how even the smallest parts can have a massive impact on our journey to space. Every bolt tightened and every piece fitted brings us one step closer to reaching the stars.
