As 2024 draws to an end, I’m filled with gratitude for the achievements, growth, and opportunities that 2024 brought. This year has been a remarkable journey, both professionally and personally. Some key highlights of 2024: • Published 7 papers in scientific journals. • Filed 1 patent application and drafted another. • Attended one international conference and one international workshop. • Continued advancing GaN HEMT and vertical GaN technologies. On the personal side, balancing work and family has been rewarding, with my wife and my daughters being a constant source of joy and inspiration. Looking ahead to 2025, I’m eager to broaden my scope in semiconductor technologies. I aim to explore opportunities in wide-bandgap and ultrawide-bandgap materials, 2D material integration, and other innovative ideas that push the boundaries of what’s possible. Whether advancing power and optoelectronic device development or exploring groundbreaking applications in the semiconductor landscape, I’m excited about the opportunities and challenges ahead. Here’s to embracing new horizons, driving innovation, and making meaningful contributions in 2025. Yesterday, during the Executive Forum at OFC 2024, Peter van Arkel, CTO at PhotonDelta, presented the 2023 update of the new Integrated Photonics System Roadmap - International (IPSR-I) together with Lionel Kimerling, Thomas Lord Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.   IPSR-I provides a technology roadmap and a clear way forward for building a global, aligned integrated photonics industry with the ability to help solve major societal challenges. This is underpinned by a call to establish and sustain a trust-based global network of industrial and R&D partners who work together to create Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) technology and systems requirements. By aligning the entire supply chain from research to end users, the integrated photonics industry will be able to drive volume manufacturing of PICs.   #IPSR-I #PIC #deeptech #OFC2024
