I have never been a #feminist for the sake of #feminism, but I absolutely 100% believe that female leaders belong in the c-suite, and as Ruth Bader Ginsberg famously said, “Women belong in all places where decisions are being made.” Is it me, or are the tides finally turning on female leadership not just in the c-suite, but in #MedTech broadly, and in MSK specifically? #Ortho and #spine have always been male dominated fields – from the #surgeons, to the #reps, to the #executives – men dominated the OR, the boardroom, and the discussion – much of the cultivation beginning in college on the athletic field. Women on executive teams have often been relegated to administrative roles – HR, legal, compliance, but not the highest-level product, strategy, and P&L owning roles. But women bring so much to this world – a keen strategic mind, creativity, dare I even say empathy that is so sorely needed to connect the business world to the patients we serve. In the past few months I was so lucky to participate in the star studded MedExecWomen event and also in Materialise’s Leading Minds event, where a powerhouse at the forefront of 3DP is led by a brilliant woman - Brigitte de Vet-Veithen. It has been empowering to see the leadership that I hope my daughter will get to take for granted. We can still do better than 10-20% of the c-suite…but this landscape looks different than when I started my career. I have collated (a likely non-exhaustive list), of these fantastic female MSK leaders guiding us into a new world in MSK – ASC transitions, digital tools, a new frontier of value based care, pricing challenges, new global markets. I am grateful for those I know and eager to get to know more of them. · Yin Becker – VP, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Stryker (Since 2012) · Cheryl R. Blanchard, Ph.D. – President and CEO, ANIKA THERAPEUTICS S.R.L. (since 2020) · Rachel Ellingson – Chief Strategy Officer (since 2018), Chief Administrative Officer (2024), Zimmer Biomet · Kimberley Elting – President, Global Orthopedics, Orthofix Seaspine (Since 2022) · Leslie Storms – US President, DePuy Synthes (Since 2023) · Gwen Watanabe – Interim CEO, Augmedics (Since 2024) · Rebecca Whitney – CEO, Spine, Highridge Medical (Formerly ZimVie Spine) (Since 2021) · Karen Zaderej – CEO, Chairperson of the Board, axogen (Since 2011, 2018 respectively) How do we help inspire, promote, and elevate women early and in the middle of their career to fill the funnel so that we can increase visibility at the top? Thank you also to the female leadership at Health Advances who never made me feel like being female should hold us back. To co-founder Paula Ness Speers, and to our entire female only MedTech leadership team Susan Posner Tracy Walters Darcy Krzynowek and Alena Petrella. Not quite #MSKMonday or #WomensHealthWednesday – but you get the idea ;)

Excited to share a highlight from the ECR Congress 2024 in Vienna, where collaboration and innovation took center stage. 🌟 A big shout-out to GemSeek, Part of Accenture Song for their insightful Brand Buzz analysis, shedding light on the movers and shakers in the radiology world: https://lnkd.in/eMaJCH58 It's an honor to be listed among the top influencers, sharing the spotlight with esteemed colleagues like Roland Rott (#1), Jyoti Gera (#9), Geoffroy Saconney (#12), and Hugo Robalo (#16). Each has made remarkable contributions to the field, pushing the boundaries of medical imaging and patient care. 🏅 A special nod to non-industry rockstars - PD Dr. Saif Afat, Nicolas Villard, Dr Amine Korchi, and Samuel Oliveira (ok, now I've bragged about it 🥳). Their perspectives enrich our community, driving forward the conversation on innovation and excellence in radiology. We need much more influencers like you on those lists! 🎸🔬 Proud to see GE HealthCare recognized as one of the Top 4 Brands, a testament to our team's hard work and dedication to advancing healthcare. Our focus remains on fostering innovation and optimizing workflows, with an eye towards a more sustainable future in radiology. 🌍♻️ Though the buzz at ECR 2024 gravitated towards new product releases and AI, the dialogue around sustainability is growing. As we gear up for ECR 2025, I'm hopeful for a deeper exploration into "Planet Radiology," amplifying how our field can contribute to environmental stewardship. 🌱 Andrea Rockall Andrew England Here's to continued collaboration, innovation, and making a positive impact on healthcare and beyond. #ECR2024 #RadiologyInnovators #HealthcareSustainability #GEHealthcare #FutureOfRadiology

Listening to all the other inspiring presentations at FTI Gent's 'The Summit' reinforced my belief in Flanders' potential to be the global leader in technological innovation, but... Being a leader in innovation is challenging, especially in healthcare. More than any other sector, we need to innovate responsibly. But if we want to be a leader, we need a more balanced approach to innovation. Of course we need to continue building on the systems we know and trust. We also need to recognise that we're facing some serious challenges that won't be solved through incremental improvements alone - and innovate accordingly. At Byteflies our approach to innovation is a prime example of this. In cardiology, our solutions streamline established processes, making a lot of people's lives more comfortable. In neurology, our solutions are novel for most care providers, but can be life-altering for people with epilepsy. Small steps add up, but big leaps transform. Flanders is home to many visionary companies with cutting-edge technology, built by some of the brightest minds in the world. For us to realize our potential and cement ourselves as a world leader in technological innovation, we need all stakeholders to take a collective leap of faith. We must dare to trust, dare to lead. Let’s take the leap together. https://lnkd.in/etBZ8bZ6 #FTIgent #healthcareinnovation #innovation Wintercircus Ghent

At this year’s #BCGEDGE expo in Boston, we spotlighted how tech innovations are coming to life across industries and sectors. At our #costexcellence booth, BCG’s experts showcased our holistic approach to #costmanagement and how it helps optimize end-to-end cost transformations. I recommend watching the video below to gain insights from my colleagues Paul Goydan and Kevin Kelley, on why #CEOs need to look at their cost structures with a nuanced surgical approach. 🚀 Yesterday at 'The Summit' event by FTI Gent, our CEO Hans Danneels delivered a powerful message about Flanders' potential in global #HealthTech innovation. Innovation in healthcare demands a balanced approach. It's about building on systems we know and trust, but also about embracing innovations that can truly redefine patient care. At Byteflies, this philosophy shapes our every endeavor. From streamlining established processes in cardiology to transformative solutions in neurology, we embody the spirit of versatile innovation. As Hans stated, trust and bold leadership will solidify Flanders' position at the pinnacle of technological innovation.
