Winning Sales Team:   The best cricket team is recognized not just for home victories but for triumphs in tests away from home. The pitches vary, the conditions change, and the local team basks in the support of their fans. The climate favors the host team. Thus, clinching a test match on foreign soil is highly esteemed, as it defies numerous challenges. It's a genuine measure of the individual players' caliber and the team's collective effort under such testing circumstances.   This post, however, isn't about Cricket. In the competitive world of sales, victory often depends on enduring through tough times. Similar to a cricket team winning abroad, a sales team must traverse unknown markets, adjust to different market dynamics, and conquer the lack of home advantage. In these challenging times, the true mettle of a sales professional is revealed. Hats off to those sales leaders who secure deals despite the odds, for their triumph is a tribute to steadfast determination and team collaboration. An important lesson from successful sales professionals is their undying optimism; despite low success rates, they persist with undiminished zeal.

There is no absolute job security in sales. You are as good as your last month's performance. You can loose your job for reasons beyond your immediate control and thats why most sales professionals have made job hunting an active hobby. #sales #keepushing

On October 30, 1974, in Zaire, 60,000 people gathered to watch George Foreman (the reigning, undefeated world heavyweight champion) and Muhammad Ali (the former champion) square off, in what is widely considered the greatest sporting event of the 20th century. The historic boxing event, dubbed ‘The Rumble in the Jungle’ had Ali pegged as a 4-1 underdog. Facing a physically superior competitor, Ali realized he had little chance of victory if he tried to simply trade blows with Foreman. As such, he and his team devised a secret plan. As the second round commenced, Ali put his never before seen ‘Rope-a-Dope’ plan into action. Leaning back on the ropes and covering his head, Ali allowed Foreman to punch at his arms and body. Weathering a storm of punches, Ali would strategically deliver a flurry of shots once George had grown tired. Foreman didn’t realize the amount of energy he was expending – while landing largely ineffective strikes. And, as the 8th round was coming to a close, Ali delivered a flurry of punches to an energy-depleted Foreman … sending the exhausted champion to the canvas! Rugby and Sales, do they go hand in hand??? Now having both in my life, I can say there are more similarities than you may first think of..... Take this setup for example.... 4 balls, 4 different tees. Each one, I have to adjust and evaluate in a split second how to kick the ball differently to the last! No 2 calls will ever be the same, you will have to overcome different objections and pivot your pitch to cater to the needs of the prospect. The main thing for me is repetition, whether it is kicking or making calls, the more we do something, the better we become at it. Do not let the miss or a "no" affect you, move on to the next.
