Boosting innovation in the Blue Biotech sector in the Atlantic Area, the 1º Fórum Regional de Inovação em Biotecnologia Azul - MARINNONET Project took place to a very brave audience!   Tiago H. Silva and Ana Cristina Carvalho (project partner 3B´s Research Group-Universidade do Minho) set out how we will work together for the benefit of the blue innovation ecosystems in the Atlantic region, focusing on R&D&I activities that are driven by what the market needs and that involve both the people who come up with innovations and the people who will make them happen. Elisabete da Costa (project partner BlueBio Alliance) presented the tools that will be used to encourage different actors from academia, industry, policymakers, public institutions, and society to participate in the development of activities with new ideas to boost European Blue Economy competitiveness through sustainable use of marine resources. Celso Alves (invited speaker, Politécnico de Leiria-ESTM) detailed the high potential of blue biotechnology projects in the academic pipeline, and sustainable solutions ready to be deployed in the market: different examples of how blue biotechnology can bring new and impactful innovations!  Thanks to the audience for their participation, now a look at the next steps! #innovation #MarineBlueBiotech #Biotechnology #CircularEconomy #research #InterregAtlanticArea
