Consider making a donating to the American Red Cross and Americares to support people affected by Hurricane Helene, as well as those who may be affected by the impending Hurricane Milton. The scale of the devastation caused by Helene is difficult to comprehend. Florida's west coast is preparing itself yet again for the potential consequences of Hurricane Milton. The aftermath of these storms will leave an impact for many years to come. It is in difficult times like this that we should consider what we can do to help those who need it most. Even a small act of kindness can have a tremendous impact. In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, our team at Shield and Castle is closely monitoring key damage indicators to understand where infrastructure enhancements are needed, particularly across Georgia, where many of our clients are located. So many lives have been impacted and forever changed, and our mission is to fortify communities to lessen those impacts. We are mobilizing our team and resources to be on the ground soon to support recovery efforts. It's often the rural communities that are hardest hit and most overlooked. As we assist these areas, we encourage you to donate to organizations prioritizing rural recovery. The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene across the Southeast, with some of the most extensive destruction occurring in Western North Carolina, has left deep scars in our communities. Over the past week, I've been closely monitoring Hurricane Milton’s trajectory, acutely aware of the devastating impact it may unleash. The images of families evacuating, preparing for the worst, and facing uncertainty are heart-wrenching. My thoughts are with those in Florida and Tampa, particularly those I know, as you navigate this challenging time. We are about a week out from witnessing the tragic effects that Hurricane Helene left across many of our states, and we continue to learn new information each day about the struggles our fellow Americans are facing. While much has been reported on how to help, the beauty of our social network is that we can continue to reach more people, spread information, and keep their stories at the forefront. There are many small towns, like those in the Western Carolinas, that no amount of notice or planning could have prepared them for what came.
