The past few weeks have been intense and rewarding, as I had the opportunity to speak at several conferences, sharing POSEIDONA’s mission to nourish the people while we care for the ocean as well as my insights as an entrepreneur+food scientist specializing in non-animal proteins and meat/ fish analogs. What struck me most was the incredible difference of approach at each event, which translates to a completely different audience. It made me reflect on how these differences should connect—and what common ground could unite us all to have a conversation that will generate real change and stop obsolete practices. I’ve already shared my great experiences at oríGenes® and La Granja Lab, and last week I had the honor of speaking at the Climate & Social Justice Summit by the Ethical Assembly. The passion and knowledge in the room were incredible, and the no-greenwashing policy made it clear that this was a space for genuine, meaningful dialogue (shout out to Patricia Imbarus). We need more of this if we are to make the changes our planet desperately needs, but we need for the message to stick to a general audience. One challenge I’ve noticed across these events is that while we seem to be all aligned on the mission, the conversations often feel like they’re happening in silos—without reaching the broader, global audience that truly needs to hear them. It’s as if those of us advocating for change are seen as the “Lisa Simpsons” in a world that feels more like “Marge" (in the best case). How do we break out of this bubble and bridge that gap? How can we start listenning to each other and looking for common points of action? I wish I had the answer. One common theme that emerged from all these events was a return to the roots—whether in terms of rewilding the anthropocene, as Deborah Vorhies and Robin Moore highlighted, or preserving tradition and product quality in food production while embracing innovation as mentioned by @Mikel Zeberio from the Basque Culinary Center in oríGenes®. Maybe that’s where the conversation with not-so-like-minded audiences should start: by honoring the roots we all share. As we wrap up this first week, the word that comes to mind for me is JOY. 🌟 The first of our five guiding values at The Greenhouse is "Invite joy to be your co-creator. Celebrate the wins, even the tiniest ones." This theme of joy kept surfacing in the group's conversations -- on what taking a more earth-centered and feminine approach means to them, in their reflections on why they're doing the work they're doing, what motivates them, and what they're moving towards. Joy was a big topic of conversation this week -- and it was also present as a felt experience. Working with Anu Sanghvi this week and showing up in these first sessions with the new cohort reminded me how energizing joy can be. It reminded me how important it is to invite and cultivate joy to help power and sustain us through the inevitable challenges we encounter in climate work and along the founder journey. If you're feeling like you've lost touch with your joy in what you do, how might you invite it back? What's something you can do to remind yourself of the joyful parts of your work, the parts that feel rewarding and energizing?
And we’re off! This week marked the kick-off of our Spring-Summer cohort, and The Greenhouse is buzzing with the energy of this inspiring new group. This cohort brings a diversity of skills and expertise to our shared space, including hardware design, circular economy and supply chains, ocean solutions, regenerative agriculture, climate finance, and so much more. Words can't express how excited we are for the incredible founder-curious women who stepped up to get curious, dream big, and experiment small to bring their climate-focused ideas to life. Over the next 13 weeks, we’re looking forward to deeper connections, uplifting collaboration, and impactful innovation with these trailblazing women: Aline Kubiak Amareux Rodriguez Anna Watson, PhD Annelise Lynch Barb Chang Beck Hayes, MBA MA Gretchen Kish Julia Sunderland Lauryn Morris María Fernanda L. Usha K. Interested in joining The Greenhouse? Our spring-summer cohort is closed, but applications are open for our fall cohort. Learn more on our website!

What sets high-growth companies apart from low-growth ones? The key lies in their approach to market dynamics. Low-growth firms often engage in fierce battles for market share within a single field, limiting their growth potential and risking profit erosion. In contrast, high-growth companies embrace ecosystems, fostering connected relationships that spark new opportunities. Purpose, not just profit, guides their strategic decisions. One Step Closer (OSC)'s Ripplefest revived and energized me! I'm grateful to have contributed to the regenerative thinking around the Advisors table at breakfast. What a dynamic group!! Here are some highlights from the day: ⚫ OSC co-founder Lara Jackle Dickinson kicked us off with her thoughts that we come together in kinship, with shared values and motivations for shaping a better world -- she encouraged us to banish the term "like-minded" from our vocabulary because it is the diversity of our minds, perspectives, and ideas that makes our community so rich. ⚫Opening panelist Carlotta Mast shared a great definition of "love" in the work context: "the deep and unwavering commitment to the flourishing of another human" (from the book Love + Work by Marcus Buckingham). We definitely need more of this in our workplaces! ⚫Panelist Kyle Koehler defined regeneration as "capacity building", and he encouraged company leaders to carefully consider what they are growing (revenue? impact? capability?), and why -- rather than blindly pursuing scaling their businesses without a clear "why". ⚫Session leader Lara Lee reminded us to avoid confirmation bias (gravitating to information we already agree with), and to become more discerning about which paradigm is sourcing our thinking and business practices. ⚫In the session on "greengushing" Julia Collins encouraged authentic storytelling backed by credible data. She compared two approaches to on-pack messaging for the same product -- first by Moonshot and then by Patagonia Provisions. Two compelling ways to inspire action among consumers! Such a rich day -- be sure to check out OSC's ongoing offerings to tap into many wonderful resources!

Some do the opening, others do the closing. The first Impact Day, ably hosted by Francis Kadaplackal, is almost over. So the time is ripe for a major conclusion: it was extremely interesting. How interesting, you can judge for yourself. Because this week, you will discover in this feed a new learning every day. As if you were here yourself. And if you do were here yourself: be welcome to add your own learning. Because as keynote opener Jan Beyne said: to create impact we need to get into dialogue with each other. Coming up in the next few days: Piet Colruyt, Tina Verstuyft, Hannelore Martens, Gemmeke De Jongh (she/her), Kevin McMullan, Elegast Monbaliu, Filip Vandemaele, Tuya Beyers, Kathy Van Wambeke, Milo Vergucht, Genevieve Leclerc, CMP, CICE, Guy Bigwood, FIEMA, Ben Hainsworth, Maraika Geisterfer-Black, Frédéric Ghewy, Solange Cleutjens, Bregje Frens - de Leeuw, Nienke van der Malen - van der Horst #impact #associations #sustainability
