Friendship is a superpower! 💪❤️ During #RecoveryMonth and beyond, reach out to a friend in recovery and invite them to join you in activities that support their recovery journey. Why community matters in recovery: 🌱 Support: Recovery is more manageable when people accept and encourage us to grow. 🤝 Connection: Family, friends, peers, and others are crucial in providing the emotional and practical support needed for recovery. 👬 Inclusion: Social inclusion is key to long-term recovery. Surrounding yourself with a caring community can help you feel understood, valued, and empowered. Remember: We're in this together. Building homes isn’t just about bricks and mortar - it’s about people. Today, on R U OK? Day, we’re reminded of how important it is to check in with each other. And while today highlights the need for these conversations, let’s commit to asking “Are you OK?” on the other 364 days as well. Whether it’s out on-site, in the office, or with our trades and suppliers, we’re all in this together. At Metricon, we’re dedicated to creating a supportive environment where mental health matters, and where asking the question could make all the difference. #RUOKDay #MentalHealthMatters

When I was running a Family Therapy workshop yesterday this quote really caught the attention of the helping professionals in the room. What does “It’s only a problem, if it’s a problem” mean? To me, in means that counselling and mental health professionals are trained to understand what can create challenges in families. However, this is just a guideline. Every family is unique. What doesn’t work for most families, might actually be ok in others. What’s important is that we as professionals do not impose our own biases on to families about what family life “should” look like. So if you’re a helping professional who works with families, the next time you are doing an assessment and formulation, ask yourself….is this truly a problem for the family, or is it my assumption that it is a problem. Food for thought.

🌟 This week is Mental Health Awareness Week! 🧠 Did you know the construction sector has a high rate of suicide? Let's make mental health a daily priority, not just for one week. Remember to check in on each other and be alert to any changes in behavior that might indicate someone needs support. Together, we can make a difference! 💚#MentalHealthAwareness #SupportEachOther #EndTheStigma
#MHAW2024💚 💚 It's Mental Health Awareness Week 2024, but let's make every day an opportunity to prioritise mental well-being. This week, we're shining a light on ways to enhance mental health and sharing uplifting stories. Exciting news! 🌟 Ash have put two of our Kent team through the training to become additional members of the mental health first aiders, here at Ash. A big well done Fay and Sue for helping the Ash team to be more equipped to assist anyone who may need help. Together, let's foster a culture of care and support. #MHAW2024 #AshContracting #MentalHealth #KEnt #Surrey #Construction #LoveConstruction
