❌ Plant based "meats" have NEVER been healthy... ❌ (And I'd be EXTREMELY surprised if they ever truly are!) Here's 3 things wrong with Beyond Meats Plant-based burger: 1) EVERYTHING... Ok, I'm kidding (kinda) 😬 #1 is that they're full of sh**ty ingredients Canola oil is the 3rd ingredient and makes up the majority of the 19g (!!!) of fat per 100g of burger This is LITERALLY machinery lubricant and in LARGE amounts! 🤯 It's inflammatory, devoid of any nutritional value and PACKED full of calories 2) They're low in fibre Cmon, if you're using PLANTS to make a burger, at least give us some fibre to offset all the other 💩! 1.3g per 100g - laughable really 🤷♂️ 3) They're designed to TRICK you into thinking you're eating a "healthy" burger Please, please, please, unless you're vegetarian or vegan, just eat a normal meat burger It will be WAY better for you! This is the worst sin of all - deception. What do you think about plant based burgers? #DNAFatLoss #FatLoss #WeightLoss P.S. The changes they're making to the burgers are improvements. Not doubt about that. But they're going from awful to pretty bad, rather than "healthy" to "healthier"! P.P.S. The most exciting thing in this article is the announcement that sales have falled 33.6%!! This is AMAZING news! 🎉😂
Where do you stand on plant based burgers?
I had some epic steaks on Friday. Much preferred to the plant based BS!
For me, the biggest issue (the reason i avoid these products even though i'm more or less vegetarian) is Soya and estrogenics. A lot of these products have large amounts of processed Soya, which has insane amount of estrogenics inside. The science around this is pretty scary and for me now a no brainer to avoid. But also lets be fair, A LOT of meat products are also terrible. Getting good quality grass fed meat, that is not highly processed, is not easy and most people are not consuming it.
Great post. I bet the average person (American) sees the words plant based and automatically think it means "healthy". This is what the companies banked on, until the secret got out. Any time a company is trying to make something taste like something real, they always use a man made artificial product. This never has any nutritional value and your body only knows how to turn that into fat.
Healthy is one thing, price is a huge driver, and messaging to hammer home the damage of the meat and dairy industry is a third.
So many ppl see “plant based” and automatically think it means “ultra healthy” when it often really, really doesn’t does it?
When they IPO’d I think I quadrupled my investment and sold before they tanked. That’s about all I know about Beyond Meat.
My better half is a healthy vegetarian, and finding food she can eat at a restaurant is a complete nightmare. 90% of vegetarian menus are fast food, meat substitutes, or white pasta with mushrooms and cream. Much easier to be a healthy meat eater than a healthy vegetarian.
I worked in a factory wont name em due to fact cud get into trouble but watching the foods get made still makes me feel sick wen see it in supermarkets 🤮
