Confidence without evidence is delusion. You don’t become confident by shouting affirmations in the mirror, but by having a stack of undeniable proof that you are who you say you are. Give yourself so much goddamn proof that you are the version of yourself want to be, and you’ll become them. Outwork your self doubt.

Don't you need confidence to succeed?? I believe there is 2 levels of confidence. One that you are capable (with skills) to succeed and the next level is once you have results then confidence can take your game to the next level. Let's hear what others have to say about this 👇👇

Whenever I feel a little bit of imposter syndrome coming on, I go back and take stock of everything I've done over the past 5 years - launched a management consulting company - published 4 books (2 are pretty good!) - launched 3 online courses - coached dozens of other solopreneurs - been a guest on over 70 podcasts - spoken at numerous events - cofounded the Solo Creator Summit - launched and scaled the Happy Accidents newsletter Then I feel much better 🙂

This is a powerful reminder that confidence is earned through action, not just aspiration. Building a track record of achievements, no matter how small, creates a foundation of self-assurance that can't be shaken by external opinions or internal doubts. It's about accumulating those wins and learning from the losses, all of which contribute to that "undeniable proof" of capability and competence. Outworking self-doubt isn't just a strategy, it's a commitment to self-growth.

I like your perspective- this is the masculine way. In the feminine world, a woman needs to feel a certain way first before they can execute something. We do affirmations to jump start our brain. Most of the time it might not be real confidence or the reality of where were at yet, however, women are just naturally conditioned this way. Not true for me, but just saying that most women function better when soothed rather than challenged. 😊

Better to have imposter syndrome fighting to prove what you can do rather than delusions of grandeur and thinking others need to value you as you just because you think it. In my experience is the biggest difference for those who succeed vs those who don’t

Operationalize self doubt: Doubt is a tool to find the weakest link in any life or business system. Turn doubt into a testable hypothesis. Then, collect evidence. If doubt is paralysing the action needed to test, then use courage. Courage creates confidence. Courage can fail you though. For those days, I have a backup tool that hasn't failed me yet: Curiosity. The ultimate life hack for shifting the mind from problem to possibility. Stay curious.

This message really rings true based on my own experiences. I’ve learned that my confidence is built on the back of real, hard-won achievements. Every task I’ve completed and every goal I’ve met has done more than just quiet the inner critic; it’s set the stage for my next steps. In my journey, genuine self-belief has come from consistent effort and resilience. Overcoming self-doubt has become a daily dedication, one that has shaped the person I am proud to be today.

I disagree Alex — here’s why; 1. Confidence is someone understanding who they are. That they can change what they can change and that they can’t beat themselves up for who they aren’t. 2. Authenticity is saying who you are and remaining that. So much proof is needed here. Confidence doesn’t require proof. It requires self awareness. Authenticity on the other hand requires tangible evidence. You say it, you live it, you Be it— being consistent.

Absolutely, confidence really comes down to the proof in the pudding. It's all about what you've actually done and achieved, not just what you tell yourself in the mirror. Like, the more you actually do and succeed at, the more you naturally start to believe in yourself. It's like leveling up in real life - the more challenges you conquer, the stronger you become.
