This morning, Nik Willetts, CEO, TM Forum, opened a record-breaking DTW - Ignite with a message that the ‘code red’ called last year has resonated with the industry leading to increased collaboration as we work together to reimagine the role of telco in the #AI era. He outlined three TM Forum Missions, three no regret moves that will enable the industry to simplify, modernize and automate to re-ignite growth: ·     Composable IT & Ecosystems offering flexibility ·     Autonomous Network Operations providing simplicity and speed ·     Data & AI Innovation providing new revenue opportunities In support of these Missions, Nik announced significant progress across #ODA, our #API Partner program, autonomous networks, and a major update to our innovation capabilities, including the launch of a GenAI-powered virtual assistant for TM Forum assets called TM Forum AIVA. AI is accelerating everything, and he closed his keynote with a call to the industry to be courageous, to embrace change in how we collaborate and innovate at speed, so our industry can emerge with a renewed and even more valuable purpose in the world economy. The event was moderated by Mojca Cargo with panel members, Dr Khalid Basit from TIAC - Telecom Intelligent Automation Council, Dr. Richard Benjamins from Telefónica, David Carmona from Microsoft, and Tor Indstøy, Telenor.    In this clip, Mojca from GSMA asked Dr. Basit to give his views on the topic of upskilling and reskilling in light of #AI implementation within #telecommunication organizations. The focus of this question was related to, AI in the emerging economies of the world.  Why do we need to have this discussion? It's important to think about the implications of AI implementation in all economies and while organizations in the developed world will always have unfair advantages, Dr Basit presents some solutions to address this imbalance.    How can we move ahead with the points mentioned? Dr. Basit explains how the C-suite should think more about how their teams can use #AI for better functioning and less attrition. Also, he tackles the natural fears about spending on technology when there is an abundance of cheaper labor.
