No one walks up in front of their class in second grade to give a presentation about how their future dream job is sales. The truth is, unless your parents are in sales, the odds of you even knowing it's a true career until you’re in the workforce are slim. I, like many others, stumbled into sales. In fact at the time I didn’t consider it sales- I just loved building relationships and solving customer problems. Realizing that my product or service could help people do their jobs more effectively or help them grow their businesses really made me feel accomplished and fulfilled. In the end, sales is really about being of service to others. It’s about being a strategic trusted partner. It’s about bringing real, tangible impact to people’s businesses. Sales is one of the most daunting yet rewarding careers out there. It teaches us a valuable lesson on rejection - hearing 'no' is a part of the job. Instead of shying away from sales, embrace it! An important part of sales is breaking it down into daily targets. This means setting daily closures and meetings goals. What seems overwhelming at first will soon appear more manageable. So, break it down and get started! Don’t look at what your 150 member team has to do in a month. Focus on how much 1 person has to do daily. Then lead them, motivate them so they do those daily targets. Many of us focus too much on getting big number on month end. Do you really want to bet your & your teams immediate incentive & future career on it? How some customers behave during month end is not in our hand. How most customers behave over a period of time is. Its not a secret sauce! It’s good planning, daily discipline and constant motivation! #sales #salesplanning
