Recommendations made by PCB in reducing e waste is good. Meantime when it comes to repair, many manufacturers are designing in such a way that, it is not easy for third party to repair. This has lots of impart, and it id debatable. "right to repair" momentum is slowly picking up in many counties. Policy makers need to consider all aspects and come out with specific guidelines.

Maybe this has much to do with waste separation on site, hauling and MRF sorting capabilities. The ability of the hauler to preserve on site separated waste's sorting until final disposition at the MRF, and the ability of the MRF to properly sort commingled waste, if mingled along the way. When dealing with construction waste, commingled waste is alwasy challenging depending what sorting facility it is being delivered too. Sometimes it can vary widely according to the project location, even with the same hauler. As a side thought, the fact that 21 out of 57 trackers were still considered to have provided "unreliable data" makes me think what "unreliable" means. Where did those ended up? Maybe scrap scavengers pockets? Ran out of battery? In the ocean away from a geolocating network? While the story is telling, still seems like a flawed sample set. https://lnkd.in/eSmvBMg2
