Alfred Intensive Care Academic Centre’s Post

Huge congratulations to David Anderson, one of our Alfred ICU Consultants, on the upcoming release of "Critical Care Paramedicine: A Case-Based Approach!" 🎉 🎉 David alongside Ben Meadley ASM and Alexander Olaussen crafted this textbook to provide critical care paramedics and other providers with a practical and case-based learning resource. We’re proud to see some of our Alfred ICU team as contributing chapter authors. Available November 18th from Class Professional Publishing, Woodslane Health, Research Books Asia, and Amazon. 👏 Cheers to David and everyone involved!

About 5 years ago I had an idea for a case based textbook for critical care paramedics. I thought about all of the textbooks that I had purchased and read over my life and it struck me that the only ones I still referred to (and enjoyed reading) used a case-based, question and answer format. So I teamed up with Ben Meadley ASM and Alexander Olaussen and we set out to create one. I was then lucky enough to bump into Lianne Sherlock at a conference in Glasgow, and we began our journey with Class Professional Publishing. We got together a team of expert authors from all over the globe and put together a book that I hope will be read and re-read by critical care paramedics from novice to expert, and everywhere in between; as well as docs, nurses and anyone else who delivers critical care outside of the walls of a hospital. It’s been quite a journey and Class have been been just fantastic to deal with. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to finally get my hands on a real life copy this weekend. Thanks to all who contributed and thanks to all who will read it. Critical Care Paramedicine: A Case-Based Approach will be available for purchase from November 18th from Class Professional Publishing in the UK, Woodslane Health in Australia, Research Books Asia in Singapore and Amazon everywhere. 🤓 🚑🚑🚑 🚁🚁🚁
