The Unseen Victims of War: Palestinian Children The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been ongoing for decades, with both sides suffering immense losses. However, there is a group that often goes unseen and unheard - the children. Palestinian children are growing up in a war zone, where the sound of gunfire and explosions is a constant reality. They are being denied their basic rights to education, healthcare, and a childhood free from fear. The statistics are heartbreaking: - Over 2,000 Palestinian children have been killed since 2000 - Thousands more have been injured, many with lifelong disabilities - Children make up over 50% of the Palestinian refugee population - Access to education and healthcare is severely limited due to the conflict These children are not just statistics - they are innocent lives, full of hope and potential. They deserve a chance to grow up in peace and safety. Let us not forget the children of Palestine and the impact this conflict has on their young lives. Let us work towards a future where all children can thrive, regardless of their background or nationality. #PalestinianChildren #ChildrenOfWar #IsraeliPalestinianConflict #HumanRights #PeaceForAll

Every child deserves a chance to live and thrive, free from the horrors of war. In times of conflict, the impact on the most vulnerable is often the most heartbreaking. As Israeli military actions continue in Gaza, we are witnessing an escalating humanitarian crisis. Children, the innocent bystanders of this conflict, are now facing the unimaginable threat of starvation and dehydration due to the blockade on essential aid. A poignant image from Rafah shows a wounded displaced Palestinian child, a stark reminder of their desperate situation. With over 800,000 Palestinians displaced and infrastructure in ruins, the United Nations and UNICEF are urgently calling for action to protect these children and provide them with the basic necessities of life. The world needs to remember that no child should suffer or die from war wounds and starvation. The need for immediate and compassionate intervention is more pressing than ever. #HumanRights #Gaza #UNICEF #HumanitarianCrisis #ChildrenInConflict #Advocacy

It’s been over a year since Israel’s war on Gaza, Lebanon, and the innocent Palestinian people began. This brutal conflict has claimed over 50,000 lives, most of them women and children. Today, children are starving, mothers are burying their babies, and the elderly are perishing in silence. Malnutrition is rising. Famine, homelessness, and the suffocating fear among children have left deep scars of trauma that may never heal. Thousands of children are now orphans, wandering in a war zone, with nowhere to turn. No place is safe. Israeli forces are relentlessly targeting hospitals, schools, shelters, and camps—destroying the very places meant to protect the displaced and helpless. Where is the world’s conscience? As innocent people face genocide and ethnic cleansing, the world watches in silence. The international community, those responsible for upholding human rights, seems to have turned their back on Palestinians. Enough is enough. It’s time to stop the speeches and take real action! Ceasefire NOW! Provide humanitarian services NOW! We demand the UN and global leaders step up and ensure human rights are respected. Stop the killing of innocents. Hold the Zionist forces accountable. Ensure a safe and dignified life for the Palestinian people. The world cannot afford to stay silent while an entire population is being wiped out. #CeaseFireNow #SavePalestinianLives #EndTheWar #HumanRightsMatter #StopTheGenocide #IsraelisTerrorist #WarCrimes #PalestinianLivesMatter #UNActNow #HumanityOverPolitics #AmnestyInternational #HumanRightsWatch #FIDH #UNHRC #ICRC #OMCT #ILO #FreedomHouse #SavetheChildren #TheCarterCenter #OHCHR

Today, I came across a heartbreaking image that underscores the profound suffering many children face due to conflict and intentional starvation. This is Abdul Qader Al-Sarhi, a 13-year-old who tragically lost his life to hunger and siege conditions. It's unconscionable that in our interconnected world, children continue to suffer and die from such preventable causes. This image is a stark reminder of the urgent need for international intervention and humanitarian aid. We must raise our voices and take action against the cruelty inflicted upon innocent lives. The intentional starvation and suffering of populations is a grave violation of human rights and must be condemned by all of humanity. As global citizens, we have a responsibility to advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves. Let’s support organizations working on the ground, push for policy changes, and amplify stories like Abdul's to ensure no child has to endure such a fate. Together, we can make a difference. Let’s work towards a world where every child has the opportunity to grow up safe, healthy, and hopeful for the future. #freepalestine#EndHunger #ChildWelfare #GlobalCitizenship #HumanitarianAid #SaveTheChildren

To really understand the Israel-Palestine conflict, people need to put themselves in the shoes of a Palestinian refugee (most of the people in Gaza). What would you do if someone stole your house & livelihood, killed some of your family, & left the rest of you with nothing, to live in the squalor of a refugee camp? That is what Israel did to over 750,000 Palestinians in 1948, over 300,000 in 1967, over 250,000 since 1967, & MORE EVERY YEAR – simply because they are not Jewish. Most of the families in Gaza owned homes & farms where Israeli cities & towns now stand, which Israel literally stole from them. Most even still have their front door keys. Israeli Sources: 1) https://lnkd.in/geiy3_5s, 2) https://lnkd.in/gBV8ipGy, 3) https://lnkd.in/g6726cMj And how can anyone claim that this conflict started on October 7th when between 2000 & Oct 2023, Israeli soldiers & settlers killed nearly 2300 Palestinian children, including 43 children during the 9 months just before Oct 7th (names & details on BTselem.org). Israel has also imposed a brutal 57 year occupation/apartheid on Palestinians, & a brutal blockade of Gaza since 2005 - both illegal under international law, immoral, & ongoing acts of war. Israeli Sources: 1) https://lnkd.in/gSYf7exV, 2) https://lnkd.in/gvXiS65k, 3) https://lnkd.in/g2rANpCA, 4) https://lnkd.in/gaZSz8PX And when Palestinians have tried to protest peacefully, Israel shoots them in the knees, kills, or at least imprison & beat them. If you don't believe it, please read this 2020 Haaretz article titled: “42 Knees in One Day: Israeli Snipers Open Up About Shooting Gaza Protesters”: https://lnkd.in/g4VqQRzs And if you still believe the lie that Israel has offered Palestinians many generous peace deals that they keep rejecting, please read this article: https://lnkd.in/g2_EV6dV And now our government is actually helping Israel commit genocide. According to our own U.S. military, Israel has killed OVER 25,000 WOMEN & CHILDREN in the past 5 months: https://lnkd.in/gtQtw9zc Can you imagine how big a pile of 25,000 dead mothers & children would be? Well our taxes are helping pay for it & it’s getting bigger every day. Israel has also orphaned over 30,000 children, & has demolished the homes of around 1 million children, making them homeless during winter. And Israel is still blocking aid to these children, KILLING THEM WITH STARVATION, DEHYDRATION, & DISEASE, in addition to U.S. supplied bombs. Israeli & Jewish-American sources: 1) https://lnkd.in/gSZVTaDY, 2) https://lnkd.in/gYpkU3ah, 3) https://lnkd.in/gErBF5hY, 4) https://lnkd.in/gavyg7E9, 5) https://lnkd.in/gWscBWrC PLEASE WRITE & CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES & the White House to demand they stop helping Israel kill & starve children, commit war crimes, & maintain its brutal & racist apartheid, with our tax dollars & U.N. veto protection. And here is University of Chicago Prof. John Mearsheimer explaining why our government does whatever #Israel wants: https://lnkd.in/gQrBHwR7

Today my youngest child turns two years old. She will eat a cupcake at school. She will paint with her fingers and run on a playground. She will sing and smile with us as we sing “happy birthday.” She will be warm tonight in her bed. She will request pancakes for breakfast as I close the door and leave her room…. This is not a dream—it is real. The nightmare that children in Gaza are living is also real. One in 6 children under age 2 is now undernourished. It is the youngest who are some of the most vulnerable to the current phase of mass violence—that of thirst and forced starvation. We know these deaths, which will grow dramatically in the coming weeks, are by design. There are literally miles of aid trucks at Gaza’s border. Israel’s military will not let them pass. Adele Khodr of UNICEF urges that barriers to aid be dropped as “babies [are] slowly perishing under the world’s gaze.” It’s easy to make a quick call letting your reps know you oppose the violence being inflicted upon children and other civilians in Gaza: https://lnkd.in/gK_K7D8B Link to UNICEF statement: https://lnkd.in/gaGwk9BS Thank you to Kalina Papadimitriou 🕊 for sharing. 🙏 Image: @relvtvbl.e on Instagram #gazagenocide #starvation #warcrimes #savegazachildren #Palestine

Russia's all-out war against Ukraine, escalated on February 24, 2022, has caused enormous economic, infrastructural and demographic damage across the country. Nearly 5.4 million people, including over 1.4 million #children, have been #displaced in search of safety across the country. In response to this situation, #UNICEF together with the government, local authorities, non-governmental organisations, countless volunteers and the private sector has rolled out an extensive #integrated #humanitarian support programme for families with children - the Spilno Spots Initiative. The #SpilnoSpots aimed to create protecting environments to help children escape the stress and anxiety of war and provide a sense of normalcy through collective play, education, and socialisation activities. Additionally, these spots serve as hubs for parents and children to access cross-sectoral assistance and psychosocial counselling. In times of war and crisis, when usual #protection mechanisms have limited capacity to support the most vulnerable, such initiatives are extremely important. What is also important is to learn how such critical interventions and their implementation can be improved and scaled up to benefit even more children. Together with our #development team at #PPMI - Loes van der Graaf, Tomas Armalys, Mariia Kolokolova and Rimantas Dumčius we embark on the journey to support UNICEF and Ukrainian state authorities in understanding the real effects of the programme and planning its further roll-out and institutionalisation. #PPMIprojects #humanitarianevaluation #developmentevaluation #StandwithUkraine

Today is Palestinian Children's Day. The situation for children in Gaza is dire. - Since October, a conflict in Gaza has led to the deaths of over 13,000 children, indicating a severe humanitarian crisis. [Note: The crisis dates back to late 1947 with the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine.] - Children in Gaza are facing starvation and severe malnutrition, with some dying due to lack of food and medical care. - Nearly all children in Gaza now require mental health support, showing signs of extreme distress. What these children owe us: -Urgent calls for a ceasefire to allow aid and support to reach those in need, especially vulnerable children. -The scale of this tragedy demands immediate international intervention to provide humanitarian aid and protect children's rights. The global community must rally to send aid, pressure for peace, and ensure accountability for these atrocities. - Every adult on this planet should ask these questions: what am I doing to ensure children’s rights in conflict zones? What am I doing for the children of Gaza? The situation calls for a global response to end the violence and provide immediate and long-term support to the children of Gaza. #ChildrenofGaza #ChildrenRights #FreePalestine

This image is deeply concerning and heartbreaking. 😭 It shows a young girl from Gaza carrying her wounded sibling and walking for miles, an unimaginable burden for a child to bear. No child should ever have to experience the horrors of war and conflict. This scene is a tragic representation of how children become innocent victims, robbed of their basic rights to safety, security, and a carefree childhood. I strongly believe that the international community must do more to protect the rights and well-being of children caught in the midst of armed conflicts around the world. Urgent action is needed to provide humanitarian aid, ensure access to essential services, and ultimately work towards peaceful resolutions that prevent such immense suffering. The resilience and courage displayed by this young girl is heartbreaking, and her story must compel us all to redouble our efforts to uphold the fundamental rights of children everywhere. What concrete steps can governments and aid organizations take to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children affected by armed conflicts? How can everyday citizens advocate for and support initiatives that protect children's rights in crisis zones? What policy changes or innovative solutions show the most promise for preventing children from becoming casualties of war? ♻️share this to raise children voice Save the Children International Save the Children US Save the Children UK #UN Compassion International Plan International Compassion International UNICEF United Nations Michael J.
