Let me talk about a global problem today that was solved using icons. One problem in a washroom is checking which toilet cabin is of which style. There can be different styles of toilets, like Indian style, kids' toilets, toilets for differently-abled people, etc. I was impressed when I saw this problem elegantly solved in Singapore during my recent vacation. All the bathrooms had an icon on the door indicating the style (check image), a remarkably efficient and straightforward solution to a complex problem. Let's analyze what could have been evaluated to solve this - 1. Writing the type on the door (But which language to use; Singapore has tourists coming from all over the world) 2. Drawing on the door (takes a lot of space and does not look good) 3. Do nothing; leave the door blank (surprisingly, this is what is done in most places). The way is to open the door in each cabin and check, but touching a lot of doors is not safe or desirable. 4. Icons (takes less space, can be understood by all) - No brainer (It seems pretty obvious retrospectively) This ingenuity is a testament to Singapore's thoughtful design. Every place has been constructed after careful consideration of all situations, respecting the investment people make in them in terms of time and money. These small yet impactful design choices contribute to making Singapore a wonderful destination for residents and tourists. This is also the essence of a good product—a deep understanding of user needs and a commitment to solving their problems in a way that is easy to understand. By demonstrating this, we show respect for our users and their time, not taking them for granted. #problemsolving #usercentricapproach

Over 50% of the world's population currently live in urban environments. By the year 2050, that's expected to rise to 70%! Biophilia is the hypothetical human tendency to interact or be closely associated with other forms of life in nature. Integrating greenery into cities, such as parks, green roofs, and urban forests, enhances mental well-being, reduces stress, and improves mood. Biophilic design also boosts productivity and creativity, particularly in workplaces, and fosters a sense of community and belonging. I love that Singapore is THE beacon in the space and a place that I'm proud to have called home for nearly 15 years. Without a doubt, Singapore inspired me as a designer.... Consistency challenge by Goodness Adebayo So, get this - I overheard some folks chatting about hotels and suddenly it hit me! Why not create an onboarding screen for a fictional hotel🤔? And I said to myself sure let's do this, in my head I wanted an onboarding screen that informs the client our room has this unique urban / local touch that in a way it's connects you to nature, 😄 I couldn't stop laughing at how the idea popped into my head. But many times I hire people, not because they have achieved a lot. Because I see something in their eyes. I see their character and I see that their eyes are on fire.
