🌍✈️And just like that, we conclude our four-month work roadshow around the world. There's something incredibly rewarding and demanding about traveling- Immersing yourself in nature, absorbing the vibrancy of a city, recharging your energy, and meeting new people! To truly benefit from these experiences, we must first of all forget about SLEEP 🤣 (joking) we should embrace every moment and stay open to new opportunities. Despite our best planning, things don't always go as expected. This is true in business as well. Even with careful planning, we often face unforeseen challenges. The key is to adapt quickly and find solutions. Additionally, we must continually seek out sustainable practices to minimize our environmental impact and promote long-term viability. Here’s to continuously improving our business practices, making them more effective and sustainable!

This week marks 1 whole year since I made Perth my home🤯   A year ago, it was hard for me to not focus on what I was leaving behind—amazing friends, family, and a dream career with a professional network I’d spent years building in a new country. Starting over is not something anyone wants to do in that position.   ➡️ Fast forward to today, and my life looks completely different. My days no longer revolve around travel or content creation. Instead, they are very structured and I’m in a role that continues to push me more each month. Trying to give 100% while navigating the early days without an apartment, car, or local support system wasn’t easy (highly recommend sorting that out first!), but we made it work. I couldn’t have done it without the patience and understanding of my colleagues, who’ve since become some of my closest friends. I’m very lucky to have landed within a company that prioritises family.   💭 Reflecting on this past year, it’s been a balancing act of hard work, adapting to a new city, and finding moments to explore my new home. It’s reminded and tested me on success being more than just about the grind—it's about making space for joy too.   Here’s to another year of working hard, and most importantly - playing hard. Because happy people produce their best work. For me, the magic of content creation has always been in capturing moments of joy. So here are a few from the last 365 days.

Time flies. After summer holiday I have been working 2 years at Gofore. Before staring the summer holiday, I reflected, why I am so happy in my role at Gofore: 1. Great collegues. My favourite partner in crime is Malla Danska. We just finished the second project together and we just know how to get things to rock. Working with someone, who keeps on exceeding the expectations is just pure 💎 2. Great management. Antto Seppälä is the rockstar of our DA-crew! We have managers that understand that we do not need hand-holding at this point in our career. They understand we make right choices and support us. 3. Challenging and variating work. Working in different roles in different projects in different companies keeps on challenging and I get to learn of a lot of new things at work every day. 4. Great team at customer. I have had amazing luck in getting professional and wonderful people to work with! I have felt home working in the projects and assignments. 5. Freedom. I have freedom to choose the assignments. This is actually first time in my career I have had this much freedom. Though of course in current economical situation I might not have chosen to be as "picky" as usually, I have still always had the full option to decline or approve an assignment. 6. Being able to choose, when I work more. Hence I have the pleasure to use saldo hours for a long holiday e.g. in my upcoming 6 weeks summer holiday 7. No politics, stupid governance practices or waste of time from line organization. What could I wish more? Well, I have not figured out yet. Maybe a few more projects with my favorite colleagues! With this reflection I wish you all a wonderful summer!

Has your career path taken an unexpected detour? Have you ever stopped to think about your childhood dream job? The one job you just knew you wanted to do every day? Take me, I dreamt of being an Air Steward, soaring through the skies and exploring new destinations. Unfortunately, my aspirations came to a hard landing when I learned that height and vision was a must back then. The nearest I got to an Airline was selling their tickets from a smokey office in London, and my first lesson learned then was that I’m great at meeting targets! As we now know having experienced life a little more, life has a way of throwing a swerve ball in front of our dreams (thanks, height restrictions!) and sometimes, our careers take a detour so sharp that it leaves us wondering how we even ended up on that pathway. Maybe you were sold a dream job that turned out to be a boring routine, or you followed the "safe" path only to find it unfulfilling. It's a common experience, leaving many feeling lost and unsure of their next move. But deep down, even though a detour was taken, you know you have a chance to get back on the pathway you knew was your destiny. But, don’t rush into it, if you’re going to change direction completely be sure to take the time to reflect and dig through the weeds you gathered along the way, and recognise those unexpected strengths you gathered along your journey that are a true reflection of your worth. Remember, your career doesn't have to be a predestined path. It's a journey of exploration and adaptation. Time Flies By Unknowingly, I’ve worked at WTC for more than 3 years, and now it’s time to say goodbye. It was my first real corporate job after getting laid off during Covid, and I will greatly treasure the experiences and growth I’ve had there. From: • Being scared of calling clients • Getting easily overwhelmed by the torrential new information in a new workplace • Feeling super scared of making even the tiniest of mistakes  • Not believing in myself to thrive and contribute more To: • Confidently calling clients, learning how to add value in each conversation • Being fluent with time management, handling multiple tasks and deadlines • Seeing mistakes as an opportunity for learning and improvement • Challenging my limiting beliefs and having breakthroughs in personal and work life each year And for that, I have my boss, seniors and juniors to thank. It is through standing on the shoulders of giants and working together that I have been able to reach greater heights. What I’ve learnt is that we each have the ability to do more than what we think we can, and it takes a longer time than we think it takes, but never give up in the process. Our paths might cross again in the future, but it’s goodbye for now. 😊

✨ Career break appreciation ✨ Taking a career break has been quite the ride! Despite the challenges of finding the right position in a tough job market, I've been soaking up every moment of this time off. From travelling to many different countries to reconnecting with loved ones - it’s been a time to cherish and appreciate! Over the last months I’ve been to more countries than in the last 5 years combined, I spent multiple weeks in my hometown Hamburg with family (as an expat I really don’t do this enough) and explored new ways of seeing more of Europe through flat swapping (highly recommended). 🌍 Also, at 33, I'm feeling fitter and more energised than ever before. It’s really amazing what a proper focus on physical health can do! Oh, and I finally cracked the Dutch code after 5 years in Amsterdam! 🇳🇱 About time, right? Looking into new career possibilities, like interior design, has been eye-opening. Turns out, the sports and fashion world is where my heart belongs! 👟 Plus, I've immersed myself in some cool creative projects - my favorite one: nail design - who would’ve thought? 💅 Yes, job hunting isn’t easy in the current environment, but taking a look back at all these wins reminds me how much I’ve achieved in the past months. Here's to embracing and being thankful for every step of the way! #careerbreakappreciation

〰 Personal & professional update: I'm back & open to work 〰 𝟭𝟲 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆. 𝟭𝟲 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘄𝗮, 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱  𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗲𝗮 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀 (𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗳 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗜 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺). 𝟭 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 I started drafting this post at a café in Bali before boarding a plane back to Copenhagen. And just like that 𝟯.𝟱 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗳 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 came to an end that had taken me from 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗿𝗶 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀. A personal dream that had been years in the making. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗲 𝟮 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 to finish this post, as I've slowly transitioned from ocean-focused living to a more land-based existence: 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘶𝘮 𝘶𝘱 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦, 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘨𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘬 𝘱𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘥𝘰𝘭𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘴, 𝘰𝘯 𝘢 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘥𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘴 & 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦? 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 (𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘴 𝘢𝘨𝘰)?  There isn't a single story, but there is/was a clear driver that fuelled my decision to step away from my full-time job as Peacebuilding Adviser & leave the well-trodden path for a bit: 🌏 𝘛𝘰 𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘭 𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘯𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘹𝘦𝘥 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘴 - 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘶𝘱 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥, 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥. 🌊𝘛𝘰 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘢𝘯, 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘭𝘶𝘪𝘥. Re-energised & regenerated, I am now digesting the many insights from the open road & getting ready for a new work/life chapter. What that will look like, remains to be seen. For now, I can say: I'm back ☺️ And to all of you heading on a well-deserved summer break, I say: 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝘄𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗷𝗼𝘆. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲.
