Work Joyfully and Peacefully knowing that Right thoughts and Right efforts will inevitably bring about Right Results. Managing Director @ MBD ANGELS | Funding Small Startups
Watched an insightful Insta Reel today that got me thinking about the impact of our buying habits. An amazing insight to Humans. Greed and Want. Rather than Need and Use Instead of focusing on our needs and uses, we often prioritize our greed and wants. But it's time to make a change! I pledge to buy only what I need and follow a few simple rules to stay realistic and avoid unnecessary showoffs. As we enter the wedding season in India, it's worth considering the impact of these celebrations on our economy and environment. While they contribute greatly to our economy, they also generate a staggering amount of food, textile, flower, and other waste. Plastic Waste of gifting wraps a big NO. And in the end, the newlyweds often find themselves unhappy despite all the extravagance. Let's be mindful of our consumption and make more conscious choices. After the wedding, seeing the wedding Album, Yaar yeh toh sahi kara hota, Khane mein yeh item. missing tha, you know your shoes didn't go with that dress. #lessusekaregaindia #nowastageindia #indiafirst #weddingdecor #weddingseason #indiawedding #environmentalthinking #nowastage Check out this thought-provoking Insta Reel for more: https://lnkd.in/gQqcTpG5

I can say for a fact that in the world of fashion, being financially ahead(Rich) does not guarantee that you will thrive in these business..You need a critical forecasting of the future in mind and a working structure in place. As a professional fashion designer, i have worked as a seamster in a notable company that was doing well in other areas of business but, they decided to dive into fashion as it is recognized to be one of the oil wealth of the 21st century. But sadly, they struggled within a year. And i can tell you that there was enough plans and funds to vivify it but unfortunately all models and structures that was put in place failed..To crown it all, inflation choked the business resulting to them laying off some of their staffs in other to stay in business. In summary, they arrived at a solution though after experiencing lots of losses. They had to start afresh and put a working structure in place which I can say for a fact… With all my long talk. The advice i will give to avoid this scenario as someone that have been here for a while: 1. Do your due diligence before starting a fashion business. 2. Start small(I know some people are already castigating me for saying this, but i mean ‘Start small, don’t think small, don’t stay small) you get😉? 3. Put a working structure in place (i saaaaaay working structure) follow the footsteps of those that are already successful in the business or get a coach if you can’t afford it, go on social media and follow their contents…Shikena👌🏽 4. Always appear in what you sew or use an influencer… There are more but feed on this and give me feedbacks on what you think #fashion #business #startup
Episode 18 Translation: You’re a designer or tailor, barely six months in the fashion business, yet you’ve spent all your group savings on a fashion show. All in the name of “positioning.” Six months later, you haven’t sold a single piece, but on your Instagram account, everything is “sold out, sold out!” Are you kidding me? In the bespoke fashion business, if you run a five-year plan in your first year, you might close up shop. Don’t you know that visibility without a solid foundation is double trouble? Especially if: 1. You don't have an investor, 2. Your father isn’t Dangote or Adeleke (rich parents), and 3. You don’t have a sponsor. Patience is key. As the saying goes, “Whatever is meant for you will never miss you.” I'm Tessy Oliseh-Amaize, your fashion professor. Embracing Independent Brands & Niche Fragrances! Today, let's explore the wonderful world of independent brands and niche fragrance houses, especially those led by inspiring female founders! Independent Brand: An independent brand is a unique and innovative company that operates without the control or influence of a larger corporation. These brands are often founded by individuals with a passion for their craft, striving to bring something fresh and authentic to the market. When a female founder leads the way, it's even more empowering, showcasing creativity, resilience, and a unique perspective that shines through in every product. 🌸 Niche Fragrance House: On the other hand, a niche fragrance house is a smaller-scale perfume brand that focuses on creating distinctive, high-quality scents that stand out from mainstream fragrances. These houses often take a more artistic approach to perfume-making, using rare and luxurious ingredients to craft unique and memorable olfactory experiences. Each fragrance tells a story, evoking emotions, memories, and individuality. So, whether you're exploring a new indie beauty brand started by a fierce female entrepreneur or indulging in the exquisite scents of a niche fragrance house, remember to celebrate creativity, authenticity, and the beauty of supporting small businesses that pour their hearts into what they do. 🌟💖 #IndependentBrands #FemaleFounders #NicheFragrances #SupportSmallBusinesses #Empowerment #BeautyInDiversity #STORIESParfums #MyScentSTORIES 🌿🌺

Your brand says something about your buyer, first and foremost. In the past month, I've bought: > Skincare products from a French brand only used by 'those who know' > Japanese incenses from a small shop in Austin > Cowboy boots from a niche South Korean designer in the UK So, what do these purchases say about me? I could tell you what I hope they say; That I am not like everyone else. That I don't buy regular skincare from convenience stores. That I won't wear cowboy boots seen at every Taylor Swift concert this year. And that, I'm a grounded girl with an incense ritual. (This is my inner dialogue and isn't usually formulated this well. Usually, it's more of a feeling). I buy things because not everyone has them. Other times, I buy things exactly because everyone has them. ➡️ Your brand is yet another 'collectible' for your buyer's identity. Would you like to know how I explore all aspects of a buyer's personality/taste? Comment 'YEEHAW' below. If there are enough cowboys in here, I'll share 🤠🐴
