As I settle into my role as a Retail Advisor at #WarbyParker one lesson stands out: the true power of branding lies not just in the words a company shares but in how those words come to life through its employees. Warby Parker’s commitment to sustainability, charitable giving, and fostering a safe, inclusive workplace isn’t just a tagline—it’s a lived experience. Every interaction I’ve had, both as a team member and while styling customers, reinforces their values in action. This has been a powerful reminder of a key principle in public relations: a brand’s message is only as strong as the people who represent it. Companies can craft the most compelling mottos, but when employees actively embody those ideals, it creates authentic connections that drive true brand loyalty. Working here has deepened my understanding of the synergy between internal culture and external reputation. A brand’s greatest ambassadors are its people, and when employees are empowered to reflect the company’s mission, it’s a game-changer. Awesome opportunity IF you have a Bachelor's degree. There are hundreds and possibly thousands of greatly qualified and motivated candidates out here in the wild that will shy away from applying due to not having one. The successful retail world is often owned and run by people who have built a portfolio of success with no education, just experience. The MoCo may overlook the requirement for a properly experienced candidate lacking a Bachelor's degree but I believe they are limiting their applicant pool by marketing that requirement so broadly. Sadly, there are many companies and fields all over the world doing the same. Likely with great intentions and purposes. It's just an outdated hiring point of view, IMO. My advice? If you've got the experience and the track record to show for it and you want a career like this...APPLY! You may get overlooked, you may get an opportunity that gets your foot in the door, or you may even score your dream job. You'll never get the win if you don't get yourself on the track. 🖤⚡️⚡️

🌟 5 Months at Strandbags: A Journey of Growth and Development 🌟 Reflecting on my five months at Strandbags, I am incredibly proud of the skills I’ve cultivated and the contributions I’ve made to the team. This role has been a dynamic and rewarding experience, offering countless opportunities to grow both professionally and personally. Some of the key highlights and lessons from my time include: ✅ Collaboration and Flexibility: I embraced opportunities to support the team by taking on last-minute shifts, staying beyond my assigned hours, and assisting new team members, including Christmas casuals, to help them navigate tasks effectively. ✅ Enhanced Product Knowledge: With time, I gained a comprehensive understanding of various luggage brands, enabling me to provide tailored recommendations and assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions. ✅ Operational Efficiency: Following my manager's guidance, I refined my skills in unboxing stock and restocking shelves, improving my speed and efficiency in these essential tasks. ✅ Prioritizing Wellbeing: The physical demands of retail taught me the importance of maintaining my health. I prioritized rest days and managed my energy effectively while balancing heavy lifting and long hours on my feet. ✅ Effective Communication: I made it a priority to seek clarity when needed by asking questions and verifying details with my team, ensuring accurate and seamless service delivery. ✅ Excelling During Peak Periods: During the busiest sale period of the year, I worked over 30 hours and contributed to sales exceeding $70,000. This experience underscored the importance of teamwork, resilience, and dedication in achieving exceptional results.
