Hello everyone! This is Suenaga from the Ground Handling department at Haneda Airport👷🏻♀️ At Haneda Airport, ground handling operations are divided into 3 main categories: domestic operations, international operations, and towing (moving aircraft to parking spots) ✈️ I primarily work with international flights, handling both ANA's international flights and other airlines' flights as well! My tasks include loading and unloading luggage and cargo, attaching and detaching the boarding bridges that connect the aircraft to the terminal, and acting as a sender, communicating with pilots in the cockpit via radio. While we sometimes have to deal with bad weather and delays, we take full responsibility in ensuring the safe departure of aircraft and work closely with our team to carry out our duties 💪🏻 When the plane departs, we can clearly see passengers waving back at us from the cabin, but we can also see you very well if you're at the observation deck too 👀!! Since we work on a shift schedule, it’s common to lose track of the days of the week, which is something that happens a lot on this job. However, when we see a lot of people on the observation deck, it makes us realize, 'Oh, it’s the weekend!' and our sense of time returns 😳!
I always appreciate your efforts. I feel that a pleasant journey in the sky is made possible thanks to everyone’s daily hard work. I always wave to you from the airplane window…

District Transportation Supervisor at DoDEA
1moMy first career in USAF was as an Aircraft Maintainer (B1-B and KC-135R Boeing 707 platform). One will never forget the smell of the flight-line from the Auxiliary Engines of aircraft that power the larger aircraft while not in flight. Makes one proud to know the ins and outs of aircraft and professionalism of job well done. Haneda's international terminal is awesome, inside and out! 末永さんありがとう (Thank you Suenaga-san) for you valuable input that is sometimes unseen or taken for granted unknowingly by the external (passengers) customers, but goes beyond and felt by the ones in the know by internal (ANA) customers and other flights staff.
