🚀 Exciting News for the European Edge AI Ecosystem! 🚀
Europe's deep tech innovation is about to take a massive leap forward! imec , CEA-Leti, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, and VTT, four of Europe's leading research institutes, have come together to forge a powerful consortium named PREVAIL Project. This groundbreaking initiative aims to prototype edge AI technologies by harnessing the collective capabilities of these institutions.
With a whopping €156 million funding, PREVAIL (Partnership for Realization and Validation of AI hardware Leadership) is set to utilize 300mm fabrication, design, and test facilities in a synergistic manner, enhancing Europe's position in the global tech landscape.
🛠️ What's on Offer?
- Advanced Cleanroom Tools: For designing, evaluating, testing, and fabricating circuit designs from across Europe.
- Cutting-Edge Technology: Based on commercial foundry processes with enhancements in advanced technology modules.
- Innovative Memory and Connectivity Solutions: Including MRAM, OxRAM, Ferroelectric RAM, 3D chiplet-style packaging, and photonics connectivity.
🌍 This initiative not only represents a monumental step in edge AI technology but also a unique opportunity for technological cross-fertilization, benefiting SMEs, industrial partners, and academic labs across Europe.
💡 Looking Ahead:
The project, which kicked off at the end of 2022, plans to open its doors widely to EU designers by May 2026. This is a call to action for those in the tech community to prepare for early design submissions that will push the boundaries of what's possible in AI technology.
